You will work on challenging computational geometry and computer vision problems, helping us transform raw sensor data into accurate and reliable geometric models.This internship is intended for students who already have a solid technical foundation and want to take the next step: learning how advanced algorithms are developed, tested, and integrated into production-quality software as part of an experienced engineering team. Along the way, you will gain hands-on experience with professional software development practices, including collaborative design, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.\nDesign and implement algorithms for processing 3D point clouds and meshes, including:- Filtering and denoising point clouds and meshes\n- Object detection and segmentation using techniques such as clustering and graph-based methods\n- Merging and repairing partial meshes\n\nPrototype and evaluate new approaches based on scientific literature and your own ideas\nDevelop efficient, maintainable C++ software for integration into our production pipeline\nValidate and optimize algorithms using real-world sensor data\nCollaborate closely with experienced software engineers and researchers through design discussions, code reviews, and testing\nYour profile\nMaster’s student (preferred), PhD student, or an exceptional Bachelor’s student in Computer Science, Robotics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field\nStrong programming skills in modern C++ (Python experience is a strong plus)\nGood understanding of algorithms and data structures, with the ability to translate mathematical concepts into robust software\nExperience with computational geometry, 3D graphics, computer vision, robotics, or point cloud processing is highly desirable\nComfortable reading scientific publications and turning promising ideas into working prototypes\nExperience applying LLMs and coding assistants to programming problems effectively and responsibly, in line with data disclosure policies\nExcellent verbal and written English communication skills (German and/or Dutch is a plus)\nCurious, analytical, and eager to solve challenging technical problems\nMotivated to learn professional software engineering practices while working in a collaborative team environment\nWhy choose us?\nOur culture\nYou have the opportunity to work on complex problems at the intersection of high tech and nature.
