The role converts agreed BOM C&S productivity targets into a focused initiative portfolio and drives disciplined execution, financial tracking, and governance from opportunity identification through validated savings realization.Working with the VCP Lead, Engineering, Procurement, Supplier Quality, Finance, and designated initiative owners, the Program Manager maintains the BOM C&S savings funnel, coordinates value engineering and sourcing actions, tracks milestones and risks, and prepares decisions needed to deliver measurable BOM savings.\nYour Role:\nA. BOM C&S target deployment and savings tracking\nTranslate agreed MR BOM C&S productivity and savings goals into a structured portfolio of initiatives, owners, milestones, and expected benefits.Maintain a transparent view of the BOM C&S opportunity funnel, committed savings, forecast, delivery risks, and timing with Finance and functional owners.Ensure business cases document the BOM baseline, cost assumptions, saving mechanism, implementation timing, and benefit calculation.Translate the productivity program into the FCP roadmaps for the MR configurations.Coordinate periodic validation of savings with Finance and Procurement according to applicable business rules.Prepare concise performance updates, variance explanations, and decision requests for the VCP Lead and relevant governance forums.\nB. BOM C&S initiative execution and governance\nEstablish and operate the integrated plan, review cadence, action tracking, and decision log for the assigned BOM C&S initiative portfolio.Coordinate initiative owners across Engineering, Procurement, Supplier Quality, Finance, and other functions directly required for delivery.Monitor milestones, dependencies, resources, risks, issues, and decisions for design-to-cost, value engineering, specification optimization, supplier change, localization, resourcing, and sourcing initiatives.Escalate material gaps with clear impact, recovery options, recommended decisions, and accountable owners.Support prioritization based on validated savings, feasibility, timing, technical and quality risk, regulatory impact, and required investment.Maintain accurate and auditable evidence for initiative status, approvals, cost baselines, and realized savings.Monitor FCP development of the configurations and main components\nC. Opportunity development within BOM C&S\nPlan and facilitate focused workshops and structured problem-solving sessions to identify and mature BOM C&S productivity opportunities.Convert opportunities into defined charters with a cost baseline, saving mechanism, owner, milestones, approval path, implementation plan, and measurable outcome.Apply appropriate Lean, DfX, value engineering, should-cost, and sourcing methods within the boundaries of BOM C&S productivity.Capture reusable practices, lessons learned, and standard work for BOM C&S opportunity development and delivery.\nD. Stakeholder coordination and change implementation\nBuild effective working relationships with the VCP Lead and functional stakeholders required to deliver assigned initiatives.Strong connection with product management and project management organizationCommunicate priorities, progress, trade-offs, risks, decisions, and required actions clearly.Coordinate readiness and action closure for approved design or sourcing changes while respecting functional decision rights and established quality and regulatory processes.Promote transparency, accountability, fact-based decisions, and disciplined benefit validation within the BOM C&S portfolio.\nKey Accountabilities and Decision Scope:\nA. BOM C&S savings delivery & FCP roadmap\nManage the integrated initiative plan and support delivery against assigned savings targets; functional owners remain accountable for their initiatives.Primary interfaces: VCP Lead, Finance, Engineering, Procurement.\nB. BOM C&S portfolio management\nMaintain the opportunity funnel, synchronize the roadmap, prioritization data, dependencies, assumptions, and governance inputs for the defined scope.Primary interfaces: Initiative Owners, Finance, PMO and DfX\nC. Execution discipline\nDrive review cadence, milestone control, action closure, risk management, escalation, and reporting across assigned initiatives.Primary interface: Cross-functional BOM C&S Core Team.\nD. Opportunity development\nFacilitate selected workshops and structured analysis for BOM, design-to-cost, value engineering, and sourcing opportunities.Primary interfaces: DfX, Portfolio management, Product Management, Engineering, Procurement, Supplier Quality, Cost Engineering.\nE. Implementation coordination\nCoordinate stakeholder actions and implementation tracking after required functional approvals.Primary interfaces: BPT owners, Project management, R&D Management, Change Owners, Quality, Regulatory, Operations.\nF. Decision boundaries\nMay recommend initiative priorities, recovery actions, escalations, and trade-offs within the assigned BOM C&S portfolio. Does not approve product design, supplier selection, quality or regulatory release, financial recognition, or functional resource commitments unless separately delegated. Does not own productivity initiatives outside BOM C&S.\nMinimum required education & required experience:\n8 years of experience with Bachelor's or minimum 6 years of experience with Master's in Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Cost Management, or an equivalent area.\nPreferred certification\nLean Foundation, Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or equivalent project and improvement certification.\nPreferred skills and experience\nProgram and project management for cost productivity initiatives\nBOM cost analysis, cost baselining, and benefit tracking\nValue engineering, design-to-cost, DfX, or specification optimization\nStrategic sourcing, supplier change, localization, resourcing, or commercial cost reduction\nFinancial acumen and savings validation\nCross-functional stakeholder management\nKPI monitoring, governance, and executive reporting\nRisk, issue, dependency, and decision management\nStructured problem solving and workshop facilitation\nQuality and regulatory awareness for controlled design and sourcing changes\nWorking experience with MR products or within the medical device, healthcare technology, or a comparable regulated industry is preferred.\nHands-on working experience in Lean, DfX, value engineering, should-cost, sourcing productivity, or BOM cost reduction is preferred.\nSuccess Measures\nDelivery of validated BOM C&S productivity and savings against assigned targets.\nQuality and transparency of the opportunity funnel, cost baselines, benefit assumptions, milestones, and forecast.\nOn-time closure of actions, risks, issues, approvals, and decisions across assigned initiatives.\nConversion of BOM C&S opportunities into executable initiatives with clear ownership and measurable benefits.\nEffective cross-functional governance and timely escalation of gaps affecting delivery.\nAccurate and auditable evidence supporting implementation and savings validation.\nAbout Philips\nAre you ready to do the work of your life to help the lives of others?
