Title\nManufacturing engineer plastic moldingJob Description\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for an experienced Plastic Tooling & Injection Moulding Process Engineer to support new product development, tooling industrialization, process validation, and production launch activities.\nIn this role, you will collaborate closely with PDLM, NPI, Engineering, R&D, tooling suppliers, and manufacturing teams across locations to ensure robust product designs, optimized moulding processes, and successful transfer of validated processes into mass production.\nThe ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in plastic injection moulding, tooling, scientific moulding, process optimization, and NPI/industrialization, along with strong problem-solving and supplier-management capabilities.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and collaborate effectively within PDLM project teams, working closely with cross-site teams, vendors, suppliers, and production colleagues.\nPartner with NPI, Engineering, R&D, and tooling suppliers to conduct Early Supplier Involvement (ESI), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Manufacturability/Assembly/Testing (DfMAT) evaluations.\nEvaluate new product designs for technical feasibility, manufacturability, tooling requirements, and injection moulding process capability.\nSupport the qualification of new tooling suppliers and provide technical guidance during mould trials and process development.\nEstablish and optimize machine and process parameters using Scientific Moulding principles.\nPlan and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize processes and identify critical parameters.\nSupport process and tooling validation activities, including IQ, OQ, and PQ, and prepare process documentation, setup sheets, work instructions, and manufacturing standards.\nTroubleshoot tooling and process-related issues from First-Off Trial (FOT) through Start of Production (SOP).\nConduct process capability studies, SPC, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to achieve quality and process targets.\nEnsure smooth and successful transfer of validated moulding processes into mass production.\nManage the lifecycle of moulds and tooling, including preventive maintenance, service records, and performance tracking for both in-house and supplier-managed tooling.\nIdentify and evaluate new moulding technologies, equipment, and process solutions, and conduct technical feasibility studies.\nDrive project deliverables in line with agreed timelines, quality, cost, and technical requirements.\nRequired Qualifications & Experience\nDegree or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, Polymer, Plastics Technology, or a related discipline.\nMinimum 8 years of relevant experience in plastic tooling and injection moulding process engineering.\nStrong experience in injection moulding process development, optimization, and troubleshooting.\nHands-on experience in plastic mould design, tooling manufacture, mould trials, and tooling validation.\nExperience supporting NPI, industrialization, product transfer, or production launch projects.\nStrong understanding of Scientific Moulding, DOE, SPC, process capability, and root cause analysis.\nExperience working with and managing external tooling and mould suppliers.\nKnowledge of mould qualification, process validation, and production launch activities.\nStrong understanding of plastic material characteristics and their impact on tooling and moulding processes.\nExperience with CAD and/or mould flow analysis software, such as Moldflow, SolidWorks, NX, or Creo.\nExperience in medical devices, Personal Health, electronics, or other high-precision manufacturing environments is highly preferred.\nScientific Moulding certification is an added advantage.\nKey Competencies\nStrong technical and analytical problem-solving skills.\nAbility to apply statistical and engineering methods to solve complex manufacturing problems.\nStrong understanding of the relationship between part design, tooling design, materials, process parameters, and final product quality.\nAbility to translate product and part requirements into clear technical requirements for relevant subject matter experts.\nStrong project management and execution skills, with the ability to deliver within time, quality, and budget constraints.\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively across global and cross-functional teams.\nProactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement, technology adoption, and manufacturing optimization.\nLanguage Requirements\nEnglish - Fluent\nMandarin - Fluent; mandatory\nPreferred Industry
