Analyses components and system performance to optimize hardware functionalities and reliability. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to innovate and improve product designs.\nKey Areas of Responsibility\nResponsible for the design, realization, integration and testing of a (sub)system, component or module on the basis of design specifications in accordance with the functional specifications; understands and communicates consequences of his/her design on the architecture.\nExecutes and manages product design from concept to production including design, prototyping, debug, validation, testing and certification.\nDesign enclosures that meet specific Ingress Protection (IP) ratings, impact resistance (IK ratings), and corrosion resistance for outdoor or industrial environments.\nPerform Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and tolerance stack-up analyses to optimize part performance and durability.\nGenerate precise 2D production drawings with proper Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per industry standards.\nCreate and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.\nMakes independent choices regarding professional aspects of the design. Gives reasons for changes in specification.\nVerify compliance with relevant industry standards and internal quality requirements.\nResponsible for performing tasks directly and working with others to drive projects forward.\nEnforce high quality design methods throughout product cycle to ensure product reliability and safety.\nCreative problem solving and multi-tasking.\nPatent creation.\nCritical Experiences\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a closely related field, providing foundational knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.\nExperience in thermal and mechanical design and analysis within research and development environments, focusing on hardware innovation and product development.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering is highly recommended to validate technical competence and adherence to industry standards.\nKeeps abreast of technical developments in own field through study of the literature and technical contacts, in order to maintain expertise in the specified area.\nApplies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts.\nProvides Mechanical/Thermal/System engineering expertise throughout organization.\nKnowledge in materials and finishing technologies to protect from harsh environments\nAssists in the development of technical specifications and processes for future products and technologies.\nExperience with and supporting others using Siemens Teamcenter PLM is a plus.\nEverything we’ll do for you\nYou can grow a lasting career here.
