(Hourly)\n\nRegular\n\nOn-call\n\nAcademic year (40weeks)\n\nSupport Staff\n\nStudent Activities\n\nOn-Campus\n\nPosition Purpose\nOversees the evening and weekend functioning of Academy Center activities and facility.\nJob Responsibilities\nSupervises students in the building, including those in the day student lounge.\nEngages with students in a professional and friendly manner, reminding them to clean up after themselves and addressing any behavior issues as appropriate.\nChecks condition of rooms and equipment upon arrival and departure, straightens and cleans up as necessary.\nMaintains a visible presence in the building throughout the shift, walking through the building every half hour.\nHelps supervise dances, parties or other special events both in Academy Center and at other venues on campus as needed.\nKeeps up-to-date on emergency procedures and is prepared to implement when necessary.\nAssists with set up of rooms and audiovisual equipment as needed.\nAssists in securing the building at the end of each shift.\nPerforms data entry and/or word processing as requested.\nReports any damage or unsafe conditions to the Director.\nCommunicates with colleagues by using the Building Log on a regular basis.\nDirect/Indirect Reports\nNone.\nPosition Requirements\nEducation\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\nSome college experience helpful.\nExperience\nExperience working with adolescents in an educational setting preferred.\nSkills & Knowledge\nStrong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships.\nExcellent communication (written and verbal) skills.\nDemonstrate respect for diversity of identities and experiences, an orientation toward equity and inclusion, and cultural competency in all aspects of Academy life.\nDemonstrated ability to work with students by building trust and credibility.\nExcellent analytical and problem solving skills as well as a strong customer focus.\nA strict adherence to confidential policies is required.\nAbility to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.\nPossess basic computer skills.\nWillingness and ability to learn additional applications as needed.\nHigh degree of organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and multi-task with accuracy.\nAbility to follow verbal and written directions, maintain a professional demeanor and restraint at all times, including stressful situations.\nAdditional Requirements\nSuccessfully complete a criminal background check (reviewed every 5 years).\nThis position is considered “Essential Personnel” in the event that:\nan emergency occurs on the PEA Campus or in the vicinity that would impact PEA;\ninclement weather forces the closing of campus or;\nother emergency events deemed appropriate.\nEssential Personnel are required to report to or remain at work if instructed to do so if contacted directly by the supervisor (or his/her designee), the Principal or a member of the Principal’s Staff (Leadership
