As a Recruiting Specialist, you’ll be at the center of our day-to-day recruiting process, helping keep hiring moving across the organization while supporting candidates and hiring teams along the way. You’ll manage key recruiting activities including job postings, interview coordination, offers, pre-employment steps, and applicant tracking, while also taking direct ownership of recruiting for the Barista position. For our Barista roles, you’ll review applications, interview candidates, and help identify people who can deliver the warm, personal experience Philz is known for.\nThis role is currently remote and must be based within the Greater Los Angeles area. Our teams will return to a hybrid office environment in Long Beach in Q1 of 2027.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nRecruiting Operations & Administration\nCreate and post approved job openings in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and external job boards.\nMaintain accurate job, candidate, and hiring information throughout the recruiting process.\nSchedule and coordinate candidate interviews with recruiters, hiring managers, and interview teams.\nCommunicate interview details, scheduling changes, and next steps to candidates in a timely and professional manner.\nPrepare and send offer letters using approved compensation and offer details.\nInitiate background checks and other required pre-employment processes and monitor their completion.\nSupport new hire handoffs to the appropriate onboarding partners once pre-employment requirements are completed.\nAssist with opening, updating, and closing job requisitions and maintaining accurate recruiting records.\nMonitor recruiting workflows and follow up on outstanding actions to help keep hiring processes moving.\nSupport recruiting reporting, data entry, and other Talent Acquisition projects as needed.\nRecruit for High Volume Positions/Events\nProvide candidates with a responsive, organized, and professional experience throughout the recruiting process.\nReview applications for select high-volume and entry-level positions against established role requirements.\nConduct candidate interviews for positions such as Baristas and other designated roles.\nEvaluate candidates using established interview questions and selection criteria and document interview feedback accurately.\nCommunicate with hiring managers regarding candidate progress and recruiting needs.\nCoordinate next steps for candidates who move forward in the hiring process.\nSupport hiring events, high-volume recruiting initiatives, and other recruiting activities as needed.\nEscalate candidate, offer, process, or compliance questions to the appropriate Talent Acquisition or People partner.\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED\n2+ years of experience in recruiting or human resources roles involving significant scheduling and customer or candidate interaction.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and hiring activities at the same time.\nHigh attention to detail when preparing documents, entering information, and managing candidate records.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nSound judgment and discretion when working with confidential candidate and employee information.\nExperience working with an Applicant Tracking System or other Human Resources technology is preferred.\nExperience supporting high-volume or hourly hiring is a plus.\nESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nVisual acuity.\nExpressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to others.\nExcellent verbal and written English language skills.\nRepetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.\nExtending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.\nSitting for extended periods of time.\n**Compensation & Benefits\nA reasonable estimate of the hourly rate for this role is $29 to $34. Please note that the base pay will vary based on qualifications, previous experience, and work location.
