Fossil fuels powered our economy for decades, at the cost of our planet. At Phlair, we're inverting that equation with breakthrough electrochemical Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology that pulls CO₂ from the air for permanent storage or repurposing into carbon-negative chemicals.\nWe're not here to play it safe. We're here to win.\nWhy We’re Different?\nWe solve hard problems and are product-first. Our hydrolyzer-based Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, enabling scalable and low-cost CO2 capture from ambient air. The electrochemical technology allows off-the-shelf components and is ideally suited to the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources.\nWith proven offtake agreements from customers such as Google, McKinsey, JPMorganChase, Shopify, Stripe, H&M, and Deep Sky; we're one of only seven DAC companies with real market validation.\nProject Dawn isn't just our flagship; it's our shot to scale CO₂ removal globally.\nIs this a fit for me?\nWe're building for the 3-5% who are energized by winning and thrive under pressure. Our pace demands people who see excellence as non-negotiable and execution as everything. We cherish work-life-harmony, not balance. If you need extensive structure or prefer playing it safe, we're probably not the right fit.\nDon't tick every box? We value potential and spikes over perfect resumes. If you believe you can contribute to our mission at this intensity level, tell us why.\nYour Mission\nTest Plan Development: Collaborate with our CSO Steffen to design and execute tests for evaluating the functionality and compliance of our electrochemical stack for our 260 tCO2/year DAC demonstrator.\n\nCollaborate: Work with the team to develop internal and external test setups.\n\nInfrastructure Setup & Maintenance: Set up and maintain the test infrastructure, with a focus on quality assurance and reliability. Electrical wiring qualifications are a plus.\n\nData Analysis: Analyze test data and communicate key results to the development team.\n\nAdapt & Innovate: In the fast-paced startup world, your ability to adapt to an evolving environment and quickly pivot will be crucial. You’ll work autonomously, learn on the go, and contribute to shaping a new sector.\n\nYour targets are your North Star. Nothing is set in stone in our world, we adapt fast, but we always hit our goals.\nWhat You Bring\nEducation: M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.\n\nTesting Experience: Experience designing and conducting test protocols.\n\nElectrochemical Testing: Familiarity with cell stack testing - fuel cells, electrolysers, flow batteries, electrodialysers or similar.\n\nData Skills: Strong in data analysis and presenting results clearly.\n\nEssential Traits\nMethodical & Detail-Oriented - You work carefully and focus on the details\n\nTroubleshooter - You identify issues and maintain test stands\n\nBias for action - You prototype, test, and ship while others are still planning\n\nComfortable with intensity - 12-hour days and weekend sprints don't scare you, they energize you\n\nEgo second - You care more about winning than being right\n\nFigure things out independently - No hand-holding. You own problems end-to-end\n\nExcellence as standard - Mistakes happen, but mediocrity doesn't\n\nBonus Points\nTest Automation: Basic scripting knowledge (LabVIEW, Matlab, Python, R-Studio).\n\nElectronics Qualification: Formal qualification in electronics for high-voltage DC/AC\n\nHow We Work\nIn-person matters: We work fully onsite in Ismaning, Germany. Our pilot plant is here, our breakthroughs happen here, and our team wins here-together.\nGoals matter: We do everything to achieve our goals. If your workstream is the bottleneck, you don't stop. This isn't about serving hours, it's about hitting goals that matter.\nLeadership means showing up and doing the work. We get that experienced people have more commitments, but championship teams require championship effort.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive salary and stock options to share in the company’s success\n\n30 vacation days\n\nPublic transport pass for all of Germany\n\nRelocation support to help you settle into Munich\n\nFitness and wellness benefits to keep you at your best\n\nFresh team lunches, prepared by our amazing chef, Amelie\n\nDirect leadership access to our CEO, CTO, and CSO\n\nLearn more about Phlair\nOur Mission, Vision and Team\n\nPhlair Secures Frontier’s First Electrochemical DAC Deal\n\nTechnology Behind Phlair\n\nThe Future of DAC\n\n------\nWe're committed to building a high-performing team where exceptional people can do their best work. Our hiring process is designed to identify those who thrive in demanding environments while ensuring fair consideration for all qualified candidates.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4811,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"master","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Stock options"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"Germany","iso":"DE","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":true,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-11T18:26:42Z"}],"liveness":{"score":11,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.24,"p_room":0.44,"age_days":106,"expected_fill_days":96,"reasons":["conf:12","win:tail","crowd:"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/phlair-electrical-test-engineer-fmd","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/phlair-electrical-test-engineer-fmd.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T17:26:04Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":4,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":4996,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
