This position is ideal for a DevOps professional with strong experience supporting cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, automation, CI/CD processes, and Linux-based systems.\n\nThe Senior DevOps Engineer will work closely with software development and engineering teams to build, deploy, automate, monitor, and maintain reliable and scalable infrastructure. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code technologies, scripting, and modern DevOps practices.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure within AWS environments, with a particular focus on Amazon EKS.\nSupport deployment and maintenance of on-premises, edge, and portable infrastructure environments.\nBuild and improve automated deployment processes to increase reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.\nDeploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes-based container environments.\nPartner with software development teams to integrate applications into cloud and infrastructure environments.\nMonitor production systems, identify performance or availability issues, and perform troubleshooting and remediation.\nDevelop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and configuration-management solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.\nSupport CI/CD and automated software deployment processes.\nAdminister and troubleshoot Linux-based systems.\nDevelop automation and operational tooling using languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.\nEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to infrastructure, automation, reliability, and performance.\nSupport additional technical and operational requirements as mission needs evolve.\n\nRequirements\n\nActive TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance.\nU.S. citizenship required due to security clearance requirements.\nBachelor's degree in a related technical discipline with 9+ years of relevant experience; OR a master's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience; OR a high school diploma/equivalent with 13+ years of relevant experience.\nStrong experience with Kubernetes or comparable container orchestration technologies.\nHands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda.\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration-management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.\nExperience deploying, scaling, managing, and troubleshooting applications, containers, and operating systems.\nProgramming or scripting experience using Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages.\nExperience with Git and modern development/deployment tools.\nStrong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.\nUnderstanding of Agile software development practices.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, written, and verbal communication skills.\nCurrent DoD 8140/8570-compliant certification, such as Security+, or the ability to obtain an approved certification within the required timeframe after hire.\nAbility to work onsite at JBSA-Lackland, TX five days per week and travel occasionally as mission requirements dictate.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting big-data or distributed-data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Ceph, Spark, NiFi, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Hive, Trino, Presto, or similar platforms.\nExperience with K9s and AWS CLI.\nFamiliarity with additional AWS services such as SNS and SQS.\nExperience supporting highly available, mission-critical systems in secure government environments.\nJoin Phoenix Ops Group\n\nAt Phoenix Ops Group, you'll have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to challenging technical missions while working alongside experienced engineering and technology professionals.
