A mechanic is responsible for ensuring that airplanes get regular maintenance and that any problems are fixed correctly. Mechanics may work on different parts of an aircraft, such as the engine, landing gear, brakes and pumps.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nCompletes aircraft and engine maintenance as required or needed.\nFollows established and normal aviation safety procedures and processes.\nMaintains complete and accurate maintenance records.\nConducts scheduled inspections and completes follow-up as required.\nInspects engines, landing gear, instruments, pressurized sections, brakes, valves, pumps, air-conditioning systems and other aircraft\nrelated systems.\nComplete necessary maintenance and repairs (replacements) on the aircraft, its subsystems, and components.\nSKILLS, COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS\nFederal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License.\nProblem Solving/Analysis.\nMeet experience requirements on airframes or powerplants.\nMin 3-5 years A&P experience.\nGulfstream experience preferred.\nStrong mechanical ability and skills.\nAn aptitude for working with complex equipment and understanding technology is also necessary.\nComputer literate and understanding of electronics.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nTalk and hear regularly.\nSitting is required.\nStanding, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and/or balancing all day.\nUse fingers and hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.\nLift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.\nVision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.\nWork in hangars, on the flight line, or in repair shops utilizing hand, power tools, test equipment, ladders, and scaffolds.\nWork outdoors in inclement weather conditions enduring high noise levels when making emergency repairs.\nMust be able to pass drug and background screen.
