Data Engineer

We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong foundations in SQL, cloud infrastructure, and event-driven data systems, capable of working across both technical and commercial stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data solutions.
• Design and build scalable data pipelines for large-scale data processing.
• Develop and optimise high-performance SQL workflows for analytics and downstream systems.
• Implement event-driven data orchestration with robust monitoring and alerting.
• Ensure data quality, validation, and governance across all data pipelines.
• Contribute to cloud-native infrastructure and deployment workflows.
• Support scaling and migration efforts for existing data systems.

Requirements:

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across commercial and technical teams.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL (preferably Google BigQuery).
• Proficiency in Python for big data processing workloads.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Strong understanding of event-driven systems, monitoring, and alerting.
• Solid knowledge of data quality and governance practices.
• Exposure to streaming data pipelines (e. g., Apache Kafka) is a plus.
• Hands-on experience dealing with scalability challenges or migration projects.
