They partner across hardware, runtime, and forward-deployed engineering to ensure every robot platform is integrated cleanly, performs reliably in the field, and improves over time - directly enabling the data collection and evaluation that powers PI’s foundation models.\nIn This Role You Will\n- Robot Platform Fleet Integration: Be the accountable owner for a robot platform’s successful integration into the fleet, driving closure on system issues across electrical, mechanical, and software interfaces.\n- Acceptance Criteria & Metrics: Define acceptance tests, criteria, and passing metrics with clear documentation on test plans.\n- Fleet Acceptance Testing: Drive and execute fleet acceptance testing per defined criteria; assess data and results to determine whether robot units can be integrated into the fleet.\n- Robot Platform Sustainment: Monitor and maintain the health and performance of the platform in the fleet; create bring-up procedures and troubleshooting guides for Forward Deployed Robotics Engineers.\n- Reliability Improvements: Own MTBF for integrated platforms and lead design improvements to push reliability metrics upward.\n- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with hardware and software teams to close interface gaps and drive design improvements throughout integration and sustainment.\nWhat We Hope You’ll Bring\n- B.S. in Robotics, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.\n- 5+ years of experience with robot systems integration across multiple hardware and software disciplines, including system verification and validation testing.\n- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software interactions in robotic systems, with the ability to resolve complex issues across all three.\n- Strong understanding of robotics hardware and electromechanical systems including actuators, PCBs, cameras, wiring harnesses, and communication hardware.\n- Software proficiency to build integration tooling, scripts, and automated tests that improve reliability and speed of integration.\n- Test execution and data analysis skills - ability to process and analyze data to pull technical insights from results.\n- Excellent written and verbal communication, particularly in technical documentation.\n- High ownership and ability to thrive in a highly dynamic startup environment.\nBonus Points\n- Prior experience integrating mobile manipulators, humanoid platforms, or other complex multi-DOF robotic systems.\n- Familiarity with Python, ROS, and tooling for automated test execution and data pipelines.\n- Experience operating in a zero-to-one or early-stage fleet/operations environment.\nPursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3188,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Robotics AI","AI Research Labs"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-05-18T02:24:29Z"}],"liveness":{"score":7,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":1,"p_active":0.267,"p_room":0.28,"age_days":136,"expected_fill_days":39,"reasons":["conf:12","stale_co","velocity","win:tail","crowd:"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/physical-intelligence-robot-integration-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/physical-intelligence-robot-integration-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-02T00:19:44Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":153,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":4847,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-03T00:00:00Z"}}}
