We connect security knowledge scattered across code, tickets, documents, incidents, reviews, and people. This institutional security memory helps teams triage faster, remediate in context, prevent recurring vulnerability classes, and bring security guardrails into everyday engineering work.\nWe’re looking for an AI Engineer to build reliable agents, improve our AI infrastructure, and turn advances in LLMs into useful security features.\nThis role requires working in person at our San Francisco office five days per week.\nWhat You'll Do\nDevelop and maintain scalable AI agents, pipelines and services.\n\nBuild and improve infrastructure for running, evaluating, and monitoring AI agents.\n\nWork with product and security teams to design and deliver AI-powered security features.\n\nEvaluate advances in LLMs and AI agents and apply them where they improve the product\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nStrong software engineering experience and a record of building reliable production systems.\n\n2 years of experience building AI systems with LLMs.\n\n1 year of experience building AI agents for software products.\n\nNice to Have\nA history of delivering complex SaaS projects while working in high-growth startups.\n\nA passion for clean, maintainable code, thoughtful software design, and sound engineering practices.\n\nA background in machine learning or data science.\n\nFull-stack experience with TypeScript and React.\n\nWhy Pi\nPi is backed by a $35 million Series A led by Third Point Ventures and Brightmind Partners, with support from CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz and Armis founders Yevgeny Dibrov and Nadir Izrael. We take on assumptions this industry accepts as given, and disprove them.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nThe base salary range for this role in San Francisco is $168,000 - $235,000 per year. This is our good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay at hire. Where an offer lands depends on experience, skills, and level.
