Pi turns that context into institutional security memory, helping teams triage faster, remediate in context, prevent repeat vulnerability classes, and embed security guardrails where engineering work already happens. We are building for a future where security is not a blocker at the end of the development process. It is part of how software gets designed, reviewed, shipped, and improved.\nPi was recognized on Fast Company's 2026Next Big Things in Tech list and covered byForbes!\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for a Frontend Software Engineer with 5 or more years of experience building modern, high-quality web applications. This role requires working in person at our San Francisco office five days per week.\nYou will help build the product experience for Pi’s agentic security platform, turning complex security workflows into fast, intuitive, and trustworthy interfaces. You will work closely with product, design, backend engineering, and security experts to build the surfaces engineers and security teams use to understand risk, investigate findings, review context, and take action.\nThis role is ideal for someone who cares deeply about product quality, frontend craft, interaction design, and building polished interfaces for complex technical products.\nWhat You'll Do\nBuild and maintain production-grade frontend features using TypeScript, React, and Next.js.\n\nCreate fast, responsive, accessible, and polished user experiences for complex security and developer workflows.\n\nBuild product surfaces for findings, investigations, remediation workflows, dashboards, forms, tables, filters, and detail views.\n\nUse React Server Components and modern app routing patterns to deliver performant, maintainable product experiences.\n\nDevelop reusable UI patterns using design tokens, design systems, and accessible component primitives.\n\nIntegrate frontend experiences with type-safe client/server data access patterns and modern query management.\n\nManage UI, application, and URL state in a clean, predictable, and maintainable way.\n\nBuild robust forms and validation flows for high-trust product interactions.\n\nCreate complex tables and data-heavy views that remain usable, performant, and easy to reason about.\n\nUse component development, visual regression, and frontend testing tools to improve quality and consistency.\n\nPartner with product and design to turn ambiguous customer needs into simple, effective workflows.\n\nParticipate in code reviews and help raise the quality bar for frontend architecture, testing, accessibility, and maintainability.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n5 or more years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on frontend development.\n\nStrong proficiency with TypeScript, React, and modern frontend architecture.\n\nExperience building applications with Next.js or similar full-stack React frameworks.\n\nComfort working with server-rendered, client-rendered, and hybrid application patterns.\n\nFamiliarity with design systems, reusable component patterns, and accessible UI primitives.\n\nExperience with modern data-fetching, query management, and type-safe API patterns.\n\nStrong understanding of forms, validation, routing, and URL-driven state.\n\nExperience building complex tables, dashboards, workflows, or other data-heavy user interfaces.\n\nExperience writing frontend tests across unit, component, integration, and end-to-end levels.\n\nStrong debugging skills and attention to product detail.\n\nAbility to work in a fast-moving startup environment with ownership, autonomy, and good judgment.\n\nNice to Have\nExperience building security, developer tools, infrastructure, or data-heavy enterprise products.\n\nExperience with type-safe API frameworks.\n\nExperience with component-driven development and visual regression testing.\n\nConsistent history of delivering complex UI projects for a SaaS product.\n\nExperience in fast-paced high growth startups.\n\nConsistent history of spending multiple years in each role making a big impact.\n\nStrong product sense and ability to make thoughtful UX tradeoffs.\n\nTechnologies We Use\nTypeScript\n\nReact\n\nNext.js App Router\n\nReact Server Components\n\ntRPC\n\nStorybook\n\nChromatic\n\nVitest\n\nReact Testing Library\n\nPlaywright\n\nWhy Pi\nPi is backed by a $35 million Series A led by Third Point Ventures and Brightmind Partners, with support from CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz and Armis founders Yevgeny Dibrov and Nadir Izrael. Leading AI companies and enterprise innovators already rely on Pi, including xAI, Notion, Navan, Lemonade, and Teramind, and it's available through AWS Marketplace and a strategic partnership with Bugcrowd.\nOur founders have lived inside this problem. Guy Arazi was a security researcher at Microsoft, and Yoni Ramon led offensive security work at Tesla. You'll work closely with both.\nWe're early enough that every hire shapes the product, the team, and how we work. You'll build alongside a humble, passionate, ambitious, and genuinely fun team that cares deeply about what we're building and about our customers.\nWe hire for four things, and we work this way every day:\nSpeed. Velocity over polish. Something impactful this week beats a perfect plan for next quarter.\n\nDepth. You go past the point of requirement. That is usually where the interesting part starts anyway.\n\nCuriosity. The people who do best here ask the thing everyone assumed was already answered.\n\nAmbition. We take on assumptions this industry accepts as given, and disprove them.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nThe base salary range for this role in San Francisco is $168,000 - $235,000 per year. This is our good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay at hire. Where an offer lands depends on experience, skills, and level. Base salary is one part of total compensation, which also includes equity.\nMeaningful equity in Pi.Security\n\nMedical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family, starting the 1st of the month after you join.\n\nFlexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) for health and dependent care\n\nCommuter benefits\n\nUnlimited PTO\n\n401(k)\n\nHealth and wellness stipend\n\nLunch allowance on in-office days\n\nEqual Opportunity\nPi.Security is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6812,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity","Unlimited PTO"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Application Security","DevSecOps"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-10T00:11:22Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":82,"reasons":["conf:2","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-10T05:45:15Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":235000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/pi-frontend-software-engineering","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/pi-frontend-software-engineering.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-11T04:09:38Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":2525,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":2475,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-12T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":1837564},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=1837564"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fpi-frontend-software-engineering"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fpi-frontend-software-engineering"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fpi-frontend-software-engineering"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/pi-frontend-software-engineering\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fpi-frontend-software-engineering"}]}
