At least 3 years of hands-on experience in thermal engineering for the space industry\n\nMain responsibilities:\n\nSupport the design and development of mechanical/mechatronic systems.\n\nDefine and develop thermal control concepts and architectures for spacecraft, space mechanisms and robotic systems.\n\nPerform thermal analyses, including steady-state and transient thermal simulations.\n\nDevelop and maintain thermal mathematical models of complex mechanical and electromechanical systems.\n\nDefine thermal boundary conditions, heat loads, thermal interfaces and material properties.\n\nEvaluate sizing cases for given orbits and mission phases/scenarios.\n\nSelect and evaluate thermal control solutions, including insulation, heaters, radiators, thermal straps, conductive interfaces and temperature sensors.\n\nSupport mechanical and system design teams in thermal-related design decisions and trade-off studies.\n\nDefine and support thermal testing activities, including thermal balance and thermal cycling tests.\n\nAnalyze test results and correlate thermal mathematical models with experimental data.\n\nPrepare and correlate Reduced Thermal Mathematical Models in compliance with ECSS standards.\n\nPreparation of technical documentation, including:Analyses reports,\n\nProcedures and reports for thermal testing.\n\nParticipation in design reviews with the customer.\n\nCooperation with technical leader regarding definition of tasks within the project.\n\nContribute to development and maintenance of internal analysis tools, templates and best practices.\n\nRequirements:\n\nUniversity degree in engineering (preferred fields: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation and Robotics, Space Engineering or Aerospace Engineering).\n\nAt least 3 years of hands-on experience in thermal engineering for the space industry.\n\nProven experience in thermal analysis and thermal design of complex engineering systems.\n\nUnderstanding of spacecraft thermal environments and ECSS standards relevant to thermal control and verification.\n\nPractical knowledge of heat transfer mechanisms: conduction, convection and radiation.\n\nKnowledge of thermal control technologies and materials used in spacecraft and space mechanisms.\n\nKnowledge of passive and active thermal control system components.\n\nHands-on experience with thermal tests (including thermal cycling, thermal balance in TVAC).\n\nExperience in thermal model correlation and validation against test results.\n\nExperience with thermal analysis software (ESATAN-TMS preferred).\n\nFluent English (minimum B2).\n\nKnowledge of the commonly used materials properties.\n\nStrong interpersonal skills.\n\nGood organization skills, creativity, analytical thinking and ability to work independently.\n\nNice to have:\n\nExperience in design, assembly or testing of devices/systems related to the space or robotics industries.\n\nBasic
