The Senior BI Analyst partners closely with Data Product Owners, Data Analysts, and Data Engineering teams to ensure insights are accurate, relevant, and aligned to agreed business metrics.\nMinimum Qualification:\nBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience\nMinimum Experience:\n6+ years’ experience in a BI Developer, BI Analyst, or Visualisation Developer role\nProven experience delivering production BI dashboards and reports for business users\nHands-on experience with modern BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Pyramid, Business Objects, Tableau)\nExposure to enterprise data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, SAP BW)\nStrong SQL skills and experience querying large datasets\nExperience working with data warehouses and curated analytical datasets\nGood understanding of data visualisation principles and UX best practices\nUnderstanding of Retail is advantageous.\nFamiliarity with agile delivery frameworks\nKey Responsibilities\nBI Analysis & Requirements\nWork with Data Product Owners to understand analytical needs, decision-making processes, and key business questions.\nTranslate business requirements into clear BI specifications, including KPIs, measures, filters, and report layouts.\nDefine, document, and maintain metric definitions and business logic to ensure consistency and shared understanding.\nValidate requirements against available data and challenge assumptions where necessary.\nBI & Visualisation Development\nDesign, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and self-service BI assets using approved BI platforms.\nPeer review other BI Analyst developments for alignment to standards and fit for purpose.\nCollaborate on, and apply data visualisation best practices to ensure insights are easy to interpret, intuitive, and visually effective.\nBuild interactive features such as drill-downs, filtering, and comparisons to support exploratory analysis.\nOptimise BI solutions for performance, usability, and scalability.\nEnsure that BI solutions meet data Quality & Insight requirements.\nValidate data accuracy and investigate discrepancies or anomalies.\nInterpret trends and patterns in data and proactively surface insights to stakeholders.\nSupport business users in understanding and correctly using BI outputs.\nCollaboration & Delivery\nCollaborate closely with Data Engineers and Analytics Engineers to align BI solutions with data models and platform standards, contributing to the formulation of data model requirements.\nParticipate in agile delivery ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.\nSupport user acceptance testing and adoption of BI solutions.\nGovernance & Standards\nAdhere to BI standards, visual design guidelines, and data governance policies.\nEnsure appropriate data access, security, and compliance in all BI solutions.\nPromote consistent, trusted reporting and reduce duplicate or conflicting metrics.\nCompetencies\nBusiness Intelligence & Analytics: Strong ability to translate business needs and analytical questions into effective BI solutions, KPIs, metrics and actionable insights.\nAnalytical & Conceptual Thinking: Ability to analyse complex datasets, identify trends and patterns, challenge assumptions and draw meaningful business conclusions.\nBI Development & Visualisation: Advanced capability in developing intuitive, interactive and visually effective dashboards, reports and self-service BI solutions.\nData & SQL Proficiency: Strong SQL and data analysis capability, with a sound understanding of data warehouses, analytical datasets and enterprise data platforms.\nBusiness & Data Acumen: Ability to understand business processes, data relationships and the context in which data is used to support decision-making.\nStakeholder Engagement: Effectively engages with Data Product Owners, business users and technical teams to understand requirements, communicate insights and manage expectations.\nData Quality & Governance: Strong focus on data accuracy, consistency and trusted reporting, with adherence to data governance, security and access standards.\nSolution Design & Performance: Designs BI solutions that are scalable, user-friendly, fit for purpose and optimised for performance.\nCollaboration & Agile Delivery: Works effectively with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers and cross-functional teams and contributes actively to agile delivery
