This role will also play a pivotal part in developing and growing our Civil Department in other regional offices.\nWhat You Will Be Doing:\nOversight of electrical substation civil design including permitting support, site layout, grading design, retaining wall design, stormwater analysis, containment structure design, survey coordination, and civil construction support\n\nReview civil construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules\n\nProvide support for transmission line right-of-way access improvement design including culvert sizing, stormwater drainage analysis, stabilization specification, construction support, and inspection\n\nAssist with analyzing the design for various civil elements related to high-voltage power transmission and substation design\n\nPartner with clients, vendors, permitting agencies, and various other team members and stakeholders to see projects through to completion\n\nWhat You Bring:\nBachelor’s in Engineering (required)\n\nProfessional Engineer (PE) certification (required)\n\n10+ years of related engineering experience, whether through consulting or working for an electric utility (required)\n\nProject management experience (preferred)\n\nExtensive knowledge of the fundamentals of managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets\n\nExperience in civil design work experience related to: 69kV/115kV/138kV/230kV/345kV/500kV electrical substations and/or electrical switchyards including: site grading, drainage analysis, detention basin design, structural foundation, retaining wall design, geotechnical analysis, pavement design, SPCC design, SW3P design, wetland access roads, and security fencing (highly preferred)\n\nTechnical knowledge of design codes and software (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and stormwater analysis programs)\n\nUnderstanding of basic practices for evaluating engineering and design issues\n\nMindset for developing better alternatives and recommendations related to the civil group (i.e.: structure, processes, software, etc.) with the ability to communicate and apply them accordingly\n\nAbility to work in a safe manner and always obey safety regulations\n\nEffective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)\n\nExposure to transmission, substation, environmental, right-of-way, construction, and maintenance stakeholders\n\nAbility to use a collaborative approach when working with peers or clients\n\nDemonstrate a high level of comfort with sharing knowledge freely\n\nAbility to identify relevant metrics and ability to apply them to the business, our clients, and projects\n\nStrong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment &/or independently\n\nAbility to think creatively as it relates to engineering innovation and solutions\n\nCapacity to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and highly agile environment\n\nCandidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy\n\nSo...Why Join Us?\nYou will have the opportunity to learn, grow and directly contribute to our business.
