Backed by our Series A funding raised in early 2025 from FirstMark and Craft, we’re scaling quickly and building the future of access-driven shopping.\nAbout the role\nThis is a full-stack engineering role at the center of how Pickle works.\nYou will build and ship features across the entire stack. From the React and React Native interfaces our renters and lenders use every day, to the APIs, services, background jobs, and database layers that power them.\nYou will own product problems end to end: understanding what needs to be built, designing the technical approach, implementing it across the stack, and iterating once it's in users' hands.\nThe domains you work in will evolve with the product. One quarter you might be building rental booking flows or marketplace payments; the next, improving the AI assistant, search infrastructure or performance across mobile and web.\nWhat stays constant is the expectation that you:\nThink in systems\n\nWrite code other engineers can build on\n\nCare deeply about the experience we ship to users\n\nMove fast without cutting corners\n\nKeep learning in every step\n\nIf you enjoy owning real product surface area and building something people actually use then this role is for you.\nWhat You'll Do\nEnd-to-End Product Ownership\nCollaborate with product and design to scope and shape new features.\n\nDesign clean technical approaches before writing code.\n\nImplement solutions across frontend, backend, and database layers.\n\nIterate quickly based on user feedback and data.\n\nFrontend Engineering (Web & Mobile)\nBuild high-quality user interfaces using React (Next.js) and React Native (Expo).\n\nManage complex client-side state and asynchronous data flows.\n\nOptimize performance, rendering behavior, and responsiveness.\n\nMaintain strict TypeScript contracts between frontend and backend.\n\nBackend & API Development\nDesign and implement type-safe APIs using tRPC.\n\nOwn business logic in the service layer, not the UI.\n\nBuild and maintain background jobs and asynchronous workflows.\n\nEnsure APIs are performant, secure, and easy to consume.\n\nData & Architecture\nDesign and evolve Postgres schemas.\n\nWrite efficient queries and optimize performance.\n\nMaintain clean domain boundaries within our Turborepo.\n\nContribute to architectural decisions as the system scales.\n\nAI-Augmented Development\nUse AI coding agents to multiply your output.\n\nUnderstand where AI accelerates work and where it falls short.\n\nTreat AI as a force multiplier, not a crutch.\n\nMaintain ownership and accountability for every line of code shipped.\n\nLeveling Expectations\nWe are hiring across multiple levels.
