The successful candidate will bring proven leadership experience and will be accountable for managing the team’s book of work, setting priorities, allocating resources, developing team members and ensuring high-quality, timely delivery. Working closely with Network and Systems Engineering, Project Management and Client Service Delivery, the role holder will provide clear direction, promote accountability and collaboration, and ensure projects and operational activities are delivered safely and efficiently. A structured approach, strong problem-solving skillsand the flexibility to work within short change windows, late at night and outside normal businesshoursare essential.\nResponsibilities and duties(include but not limited to) \nKey responsibilities include: \nLead, motivate and develop the Data Centre team, setting clear expectations and promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement\nOwn and manage the team’s book of work, ensuring that operational activities, projects, incidents and service requests are recorded, prioritized and delivered to agreed timelines and quality standards \nPlan and allocate team resources across Chicago, New York, Mexico and Canada, balancing business priorities, capacity, skills and operational risk \nMonitor delivery performance, remove blockers, manage competing priorities and provide clear progress, risk and dependency updates to stakeholders \nConduct regular team meetings and one-to-one discussions, provide coaching and feedback, and support individual development and succession planning \nWork closely with Network and Systems Engineering, Project Management and Client Service Delivery to coordinate implementation, maintenance and support activities \nEnsure the physical build, maintenance and operational integrity of Pico’s and its clients’ data centre environments, including rack and stack, cabling, hardware installation, migrations, cross-connects and circuit testing \nEnsure work is completed safely and in accordance with change controls, technical standards, documented procedures and customer requirements \nOversee accurate and timely updates in the ticketing system, together with inventory records, rack elevations, audit results and power-utilisation reporting \nCoordinate data centre access, shipping and receiving, equipment storage and third-party or vendor activity \nLead the response to incidents and outages, ensuring appropriate escalation, communication, restoration activity and follow-up actions \nProvide hands-on technical support when required and maintain a structured, problem-solving approach during short change windows and business-critical activity \nMaintain on-call and out-of-hours coverage across the team, including emergency attendance at data centre facilities when required \nTravel between data centre locations as required, sometimes at short notice \nEducation, Skills and background(incl. Education and Experience Requirements) \n10+ years of experience in Telecommunications or Data Centre related field \nIn depth knowledge of Telecom structured cabling standards \nIn depth knowledge of network device / server deployment \nIn depth knowledge of DCO standards and operations \nEffective organizational skills and high attention to detail \nBuilding Management System and Branch Circuit Monitoring experience \nStrong troubleshooting skills \nProfessional business communication and interpersonal skills \nDemonstrated people leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, develop, and support team members while promoting accountability and collaboration \nMission Critical Data Centre Facility Maintenance \nWorking Arrangements(Build into Template) \nWorking Arrangements \nThe working days for this role are Tuesday to Saturday: Tuesday to Friday 11 AM to 7 PM and Sat 9 AM to 6 PM. Sunday availability on request. This is a non-office-based position. Travel between data centers in New Jersey (and occasionally beyond) will be required on an on-going basis. Home base is New Jersey, where we operate out of Equinix NY4, the travel is primarily within AMRS.
