As an early member of the Finance team, you'll take ownership of key areas of the monthly close, financial reporting, and audit preparation while helping establish the processes and controls needed to support a rapidly scaling business.\nWe're looking for a self-driven accountant who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and taking ownership. You'll work across general ledger accounting, revenue, AP and T&E, and financial systems, with opportunities to automate workflows and take on increasingly complex accounting responsibilities as the team grows.\nResponsibilities\nOwn the monthly close and financial reporting\nOwn key areas of the monthly close and help drive toward a consistent 5-business-day close.\n\nPrepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.\n\nReview operating expenses for appropriate classification and departmental allocation.\n\nSupport revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and deferred revenue accounting.\n\nPerform flux and variance analysis to identify unusual activity and improve financial statement accuracy.\n\nPerform bank reconciliations and cash matching.\n\nHelp improve and automate our procure-to-pay and expense processes as we scale.\n\nBuild an audit-ready accounting function\nPrepare clear, well-supported financial statement schedules and audit-ready workpapers.\n\nSupport Picogrid's annual financial statement audit and coordinate audit requests.\n\nHelp implement and operationalize accounting policies as the business grows.\n\nBuild processes and documentation that strengthen the accuracy and scalability of the accounting function.\n\nBuild better systems and processes\nIdentify opportunities to automate repetitive accounting processes and accelerate the close.\n\nImprove integrations and workflows across the finance stack.\n\nLeverage AI and automation tools to reduce manual work while maintaining strong financial controls.\n\nPartner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and other teams on accounting and systems initiatives.\n\nTake on increasingly complex accounting responsibilities as Picogrid and the Finance organization grow.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n2+ years of progressive accounting or audit experience.\n\nStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting fundamentals.\n\nAbility to independently investigate discrepancies and drive issues through resolution.\n\nStrong attention to detail while understanding the broader business context behind the numbers.\n\nComfort operating in an environment where processes are still being built and improved.\n\nStrong systems aptitude and the ability to learn new finance tools quickly.\n\nA process-improvement mindset-you naturally look for ways to make recurring work more accurate, automated, and scalable.\n\nClear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across functions.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n\nCPA or progress toward CPA certification.\n\nBig 4 or other public accounting experience.\n\nExperience at a high-growth startup or similarly fast-moving environment.\n\nInterest in AI-enabled finance and accounting workflows.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\nBase salary range: $105,000 - $135,000 per year plus performance incentive.
