We are a global company headquartered in New York, with offices in Chicago, London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo.\nPurpose of the role:\nWorking within Pico’s and Pico’s clients’ various Data Centers in Chicago with some NY, Mexico and Canada, the role holder will be responsible for the physical build and maintenance of our environment. Working closely with our Network and Systems engineering teams and our Project Management and client Service Delivery functions to ensure prompt delivery of all projects. With a structured approach, strong team ethos and the flexibility and commitment to solve problems and get things done, the role holder will be a key member of this small but highly skilled and integral team. A key requirement of this job is flexibility as the role holder will be expected to work in short change windows, late at night and out of hours.\nResponsibilities and duties(include but not limited to)\nThis includes, but is not limited to the following services:\nEquipment Rack and Stack\nCable, Label & terminate fiber or copper network cabling\nAssist with the diagnosis of hardware and software - troubleshooting\nPerform cabinet/cage audits\nBlade/Card, Memory, Hard Drive, and Transceiver installations or removal\nTesting and troubleshooting of copper and fiber optic circuits\nPerform migrations of equipment, power, or networking devices\nShipping and receiving packages in Office and co-locations\nReceive, log, and store internal packages\nArrange access for internal and external customers\nOrder, receive, install, and test cross connects (copper/fiber)\nProvide timely updates using a computer-based ticketing system\nPerform and document inventory verification/counts and rack elevation\nMonitor and report on power utilization in co-locations\nMaintain overall Data Centre cleanliness and appearance\nWork flexible shift schedules including rotational on-call coverage\nReport to the facility within a 1hour average for emergency outage assistance\nWe operate many data centers across EMEA, the candidate will be required to travel throughout Europe, sometimes on very short notice, particularly in the short term.\nHome base will be the New Jersey area\nEducation, Skills and background(incl. Education and Experience Requirements)\n3+ years of experience in Telecommunications or Data Centre related field\nIn depth knowledge of Telecom structured cabling standards\nIn depth knowledge of network device / server deployment\nIn depth knowledge of DCO standards and operations\n3+ years use of industry standard test equipment\nEffective organizational skills and high attention to detail\nBuilding Management System and Branch Circuit Monitoring experience\nStrong troubleshooting skills\nProfessional business communication and interpersonal skills\nMission Critical Data Centre Facility Maintenance\nWorking Arrangements\nThe working days for this role are Tuesday to Saturday: Tuesday to Friday 4 PM to midnight and Sat 9 AM to 5 PM. Sunday availability on request. This is a non-office-based position. Travel between data centers in New Jersey (and occasionally beyond) will be required on an on-going basis. Home base is New Jersey, where we operate out of Equinix NY4, the travel is primarily within AMRS.
