This internship will assist in achieving the corporate mission of providing a safe environment for employees and customers. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about and be exposed to each function of an airline safety department. After successfully completing the internship, the intern will have an overall knowledge needed to understand all elements of safety. This intern position is responsible for assisting the Ground Safety team with ensuring safety and compliance throughout the organization. This position reports to the Manager of Occupational Health Programs.\nEssential Duties:\nInvolvement in Occupational Safety and Health Programs, including but not limited to: Injury and Illness Prevention; Heat Illness Prevention; Wildfire Smoke Protocol; and OSHA Self-Audits\nAssist with review and follow-up of report submissions\nAssist in creating data visualizations and reviewing manuals\nJob Qualifications and Competencies:\nOne (1) year of progress towards a degree with a major or minor in safety or aviation/aeronautical science \nExcellent communication and Microsoft Office Suite skills required \nOrganized, detail oriented, self-motivated, ability to multi-task, problem solving skills, and the ability to set and meet deadlines \nGeneral knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Regulations, and procedures regarding airline safety \nPreferred Qualifications:\nJunior or Senior student \nPrior work experience, especially in a fast-paced office environment \nKnowledge of Tableau \nWork Environment:\nStandard office environment, use of computers and other office equipment \nAbility to work a flexible schedule if needed \nSome travel required \nPhysical Requirements:\nOccasional lifting up to 25 pounds \nThe above statements provide a brief description of the general nature of work performed and not intended to be a complete list of responsibilities, duties and skills required for this position.
