We are looking for you!\nJob Description\nPier Solutions is growing - we are looking for a highly motivated self-starter to strengthen our engineering team in Saskatchewan. As a Pier Solutions project manager, you will be tasked with assisting in the management of construction projects and providing technical services. This is the perfect job for you if you strive to merge technical engineering and practical construction services.\nReporting to the Director of Operations, your responsibilities may include the following:\nLeading multiple projects at a time, both on-site and from your office.\nSupporting all aspects of construction work, including:developing proposals for various contract models;\npreparing estimates for quoted and tendered work;\non-site labour to assist construction crews;\nmanaging schedules, materials, and subcontractors;\naiding in job cost tracking;\npreparing and submitting environmental management plans;\nsupporting safety coordinator in completing daily and project-specific safety requirements;\nreporting on project progress, offering viable solutions and opportunities as they arise; and\nsubmitting and tracking RFIs, change orders, and site instructions.\n\nProviding technical services, including:bridge/structure inspections, maintenance plans, load ratings, as well as other design services;\nwriting technical reports and reviewing proposals and estimates.\n\nCommunicating customer issues and devising ways for improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.\nResponsibilities will be added over time.\nOther Requirements\nCivil tech diploma or civil engineering degree.\nAt least three years of project management and/or bridge engineering experience is preferred.\nAt least five years of experience within the construction industry is preferred.\nSome bridge experience is an asset, but not required.\nSpecialized training in timber structures is an asset, but not required.\nConstruction/carpentry experience is an asset, but not required.\nSkills and Competencies\nClient-facing, internal, and written communication.\nPlanning, scheduling, budgeting, and estimating.\nConflict resolution.\nEffective communication with trade contractors, citizens, and technical/design team.\nAble to offer superb client experiences through effective management.\nJuggling many responsibilities in the field and at the office.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy, and commitment to well-constructed projects.\nClass 5 driver's license.\nCharacter\nLeader and team player.\nKeen to learn and contribute.\nCollaborative, innovative, and creative.\nOur Mission\nBridges in rural Manitoba and Saskatchewan are being replaced instead of repaired or neglected instead of maintained, adding undue cost to taxpayers.\nOur Solution: we collaborate with local leaders to provide fiscally responsible, proactive, and preventative maintenance options.\nOur Advantage: we empower clients by uniquely combining engineering and construction expertise.\nOur clients include municipal, provincial, and federal governments, First Nations peoples, short-line rail companies, and trail associations.
