This position monitors plant activity, controls facility access, conducts routine security inspections, supports shipping and receiving functions, and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. The Security Guard must demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n*Resume required*\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nMonitor plant activity and maintain security throughout the facility.\nConduct hourly security rounds, including verifying:\nTrailer temperatures\nRoom temperatures\nGate security and access points\nMonitor and document all associates, visitors, and vehicle traffic entering and exiting the facility.\nOperate weight master scales and accurately weigh trailers entering and leaving the plant.\nAnswer and direct incoming switchboard calls after business hours.\nBill outgoing loads and maintain required shipping documentation.\nFollow, enforce, and help implement company policies, procedures, and security protocols.\nOperate company-owned vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.\nInspect trailers to verify cleanliness, condition, and operability before use.\nReceive and document shipments of supplies and raw materials.\nMaintain accurate records, logs, and reports related to security and plant activity.\nReport unusual activities, safety concerns, security incidents, or policy violations to management.\nAssist with other duties and projects as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nAbility to read, write, and speak English.\nAbility to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.\nProfessional attitude and appearance.\nEffective communication skills, including the ability to remain calm and communicate under stressful situations.\nAbility to work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.\nAbility to walk more than one mile on varying terrain, in all weather conditions, and frequently navigate stairs.\nPreferred Qualifications\nSecurity experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or warehouse environment.\nStrong computer skills and working knowledge of basic software applications.\nExperience with scale operations, shipping documentation, or facility access control systems.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.\nAbility to walk more than one mile during routine patrols.\nAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.\nAbility to climb stairs and navigate uneven terrain.\nAbility to observe surroundings and respond promptly to security-related matters.\nAbility to occasionally lift and carry materials as required.\nWork Environment\nManufacturing and processing facility environment.\nExposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and weather conditions.\nFrequent interaction with employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.\nMay require working evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.\nKey Competencies\nIntegrity and confidentiality\nAttention to detail\nDependability and accountability\nProfessionalism\nCommunication skills\nProblem-solving ability\nIndependent decision-making\nSafety and security awareness\nWhy Work for Pilgrim’s?\nBenefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;\nPaid Time Off: Sick leave, vacation, company observed holidays or, any other statutorily required paid leave;\n 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;\n Base hourly rate: $15-$16/hour (DOE), payable bi-weekly;\nCareer Development: Our company is dedicated to supporting professional growth by offering continuous learning opportunities and a focus on career growth through various learning and development programs;\nBetter Futures\nThe Company is dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure environment for our team members and visitors.
