Must be willing to work in any department and take the next Superintendent opening.\nPrinciple Responsibilities:\nMeet and exceed production goals set forth by plant management.\n Responsible for meeting volume goals, reducing claims, maximizing yields, reducing cost, increasing team member retention and maintaining good working relationships with the USDA (meat), and all team members\nDirectly supervise hourly production team members to include direction of activities and ensuring training of all team members to product specifications, techniques, and requirements\nMonitor and ensure proper procedures, safety, and cleanliness of production team members; provide positive and/or corrective feedback as necessary\nEnsure food safety, human resources, and safety policy compliance with all production team members\nLook for continuous improvement in operating processes and procedures and encourage hourly team member ownership of all processes.\nManages all aspects of processing for the assigned department\nCoordinates with Sales & Marketing, and fellow Superintendents to ensure orders are filled on a timely basis and meet all quality standards.\nPromotes and maintains plant safety\nDevelops leads and coaches production team members.\nWorking Conditions:\nProduction and maintenance settings\nExposure to various chemicals, machinery and knives\nSlippery floors, extreme temperatures and loud noises\nHigh level of interaction with other departments and team members\n50+ hours per week, occasionally on weekends\nEducation:\nHigh School degree or equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience\nBachelor’s Degree in applicable field preferred\nExperience: 1-2 years proven supervisory experience in the food industry; industry-specific experience encouraged\nSpecial Skills:\nAbility to communicate effectively and respectfully, both written and verbally\nBilingual skills helpful\nCapable of independent decision making\nAbility to manage multiple priorities\nExcellent conflict resolution skills\nDemonstrates integrity and fairness\nAble to quickly and effectively adapt to new and changing situations\nDesire for continuous improvement\nShows compassion towards and has an interest in others\nBasic computer knowledge required\nGood organizational skills\nAble to work assigned hours/days, including occasional weekends as required\nGood attendance and safety records\nRelationships\nInternal: Team members on the production line and plant management and all leadership levels at the complex\nExternal: USDA, all leadership levels under Pilgrims\nWhy Work for Pilgrim’s?\nBenefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;\nPaid Time Off: Sick leave, vacation, company observed holidays or, any other statutorily required paid leave;\n 401(k): Company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;\nBase salary range $78,883.00 - $95,842.80;\nDiscretionary Bonus: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan.
