Are you a curious and analytical student with a passion for using data to solve business problems? Pilot Company is seeking a Data Governance Intern to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee, for the summer of 2027. This is a unique opportunity to directly improve operational efficiency through analyzing data, driving data quality visibility, and ensuring robust data lifecycle management.
In this role, you will be an integral part of our Data Governance team. Your work will involve ingesting and analyzing data to build dashboards and presentations for business leaders. This is an ideal position for someone who is a collaborative team player and enjoys building with others to drive real change.
What You’ll Do
Your responsibilities may include:
Partner with the business: Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements and understand their needs.
Drive Data Governance & Visualization: Map and develop end-to-end flows of data from core source systems into interactive visualizations and executive presentations, translating complex process data into clear business insights.
Visualize & Monitor Data Quality: Build dashboards and visual metrics to monitor data accuracy, flag anomalies, and ensure business stakeholders can rely on high-integrity data.
Data Lifecycle Management & Compliance: Assist in tracking and managing data across its entire lifecycle to ensure processes remain compliant with internal governance frameworks and external regulatory standards.
Contribute to key initiatives: Help accelerate the team's delivery and assist with Pilot’s strategic initiatives by handling essential tasks.
What We’re Looking For
Education: A rising or graduating senior pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and MS Office. Experience building out visualizations is also essential.
Soft Skills: A curious and collaborative team player who is open to hearing other perspectives and enjoys building solutions with others.
