Pilot Company is seeking a Logistics Intern to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee, for the summer of 2027. This is a unique opportunity to tackle a real, current problem our logistics team is facing, with the potential to create tools and processes that will be used for years to come.\nIn this role, you'll be an integral part of the logistics team, refining our processes and creating improved department tools. You'll help us explore new opportunities and visualize data, which will expose you to our supply chain business while improving our operational efficiency. This is an ideal position for a curious and collaborative student who can work autonomously to drive tangible results.\nWhat You’ll Do\nYour responsibilities may include:\nGain exposure to our supply chain business: Logistics plans, schedules and executes the delivery of hundreds of fuel loads daily, accounting for millions of dollars in fuel buying decisions. This includes analyzing driver and market data to create the lowest cost action plans, prevent fuel outages, and capitalize on arbitrage opportunities, all while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).\n\nTackle real-world problems: Take on current logistics challenges, with projects potentially involving driver scheduling or increasing gallons hauled. Specific projects will be determined closer to the start of the internship to align with business needs.\n\nRefine processes: Aid in refining and optimizing our processes.\n\nVisualize data: Help the team visualize and interpret data using Tableau.\n\nProvide lasting value: Contribute to the logistics department by creating tools that will be used for years to come.\n\nAnalyze data and present findings: Use your data analysis and presentation skills to provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders at varying levels.\n\n What We’re Looking For\nEducation: A junior or senior pursuing a Supply Chain major preferably with a business analytics minor.\n\nTechnical Skills: Experience in data analysis is essential. Experience with Tableau and/or SAP, other database management tools, and AI-enabled solutions for managing and analyzing large datasets is a plus.\n\nSoft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. We're looking for someone who is curious and can work effectively both autonomously and collaboratively with stakeholders at varying levels.
