This role ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of systems and networks while providing advanced technical support and mentoring to junior staff. The Senior System Administrator collaborates with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to plan and execute system upgrades, cloud integrations, and enterprise-level projects.\nResponsibilities:\nTypical Responsibilities/Tasks:\nDesign, implement, and maintain enterprise IT systems, including servers, storage, virtualization, and network infrastructure.\nEnsure system performance, availability, and security across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.\nPlan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and consolidations.\nMonitor system health, performance, and capacity, proactively addressing issues.\nDevelop and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.\nImplement and enforce security policies, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.\nProvide expert-level support for complex technical issues across systems, networks, and applications.\nGuide and mentor junior administrators and IT support staff.\nServe as escalation point for critical incidents and outages\nAdvanced expertise in Windows Server, Linux/Unix, and hybrid IT environments.\nKnowledge of networking, firewalls, storage solutions, and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).\nExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud migration strategies.\nProficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform).\nStrong understanding of security principles, identity/access management, and compliance standards.\nRequired Qualifications\nDoD 8140 Certification\nDesired Qualifications\nBachelors Degree\nAbout PingWind\nPingWind is focused on delivering outstanding services to the federal government.
