They are locally representing Pinnacle Propane, ensuring that operations are done in accordance with its safety and compliance policies.\nThe Operations Manager will supervise a combination of operations supervisors, drivers, service technicians and yard hands within a well-defined district. They will carry the responsibility for an efficient and safe operation of the bulk storage facilities, as well as the cylinder dispensers and/or depots. Lastly, they will be site director for the manned sites, where customer care representatives are present. This includes the wellbeing of the representatives but excludes the supervision of the job execution of those customer care representatives, which is the responsibility of the customer care supervisor.\nEssential Job Responsibilities\nIs the ambassador of the Pinnacle brand\nThese include (but are not limited to):\nThey will ensure that the values and purpose of Pinnacle are being respected and lived by. \nEnsures doing good business in line with the company’s code of conduct and its ethics and compliance policies.\nUnderstands and works within the Pinnacle Strategy and the company Operations Strategy.\nIs responsible for all safety related aspects within his/her assigned district aspiring zero incidents. \nThese include (but are not limited to):\nDemonstrates visible safety leadership.\nImplements and carries out all aspects of the Pinnacle’s Visible Felt Leadership roadmap.\nActively entertaining a cross-functional partnership with the Safety Team.\nAssuring that drivers, service technicians and yard hands are compliant with all company and regulatory training. \nAssures that all company and regulatory standards are met for all locations.\nOversees and/or executes the Operational Discipline and Safety process directives of the company. \nSupports operations supervisors, drivers, service technicians and yard hands with Pinnacle’s 9 Life Savings rules, General Safety habits and the CARE - 7 steps to zero, within their daily tasks. \nConduct and document regular safety meetings with all staff as required.\nAssures employees are qualified and capable of executing their job and resources in line with work scope. \nThis includes (but is not limited to):\nHelp determine the necessary resources needed in distribution and technical services to meet customer needs.\nRecruit, interview, select, train, and motivate their direct reports. \nProvide training for drivers on handheld computers to ensure the proper use and correct completion of deliveries.\nProvide technical training for service technicians to ensure execution of their tasks.\nProvide clear instructions and training to yard hands to assure seamless execution of the cylinder filling, yard maintenance and in cases technical assistance.\nSupport all operations supervisors, drivers, service technicians and yard hands to improve their job execution.\nSupervision of job execution of all direct reports\nThis includes (but is not limited to):\nProvide regular supervision and guidance to assigned operations supervisor(s) on staff.\nMonitor Drivers Logs and DVIR’s daily to assure that drivers comply and meet regulations. \nOrganize and manage day to day operation of distribution and service technician personnel to ensure a high level of customer service.\nSchedule transportation for all runs to depots and communicate needs to the production facility.\nPrepare, approve, and process payroll for staff.\nEnsure proper expense control for each driver and service tech.\nManage and be responsible for the district budget and financial statement. \nBi-annual ride with all delivery drivers to instruct, monitor, and motivate the employees to reach their full potential.\nSafeguard Pinnacle Propane’s license to operate in their area\nThis includes (but is not limited to):\nTest new drivers to ensure that the proper paperwork is completed before they are released to drive independently. \nMaintain delivery equipment to meet company standards and comply with DOT regulations.\nAudit vehicle paperwork and inspect depots for compliance.\nMaintain DOT vehicle files for each piece of equipment and maintain equipment according to DOT regulations and company procedures.\nEnsure driver DOT files are maintained and updated as needed utilizing our web-based company, JJ Keller.\nFacilitating an efficient and effective execution of operations \nThis includes (but is not limited to):\nCommunicate route needs and changes daily to Routing Coordinators.\nConduct Month end inventories to include propane, fuel, cylinders, cages and parts.\nSeek efficiency opportunities in operations through continuous improvement. \nLead the team to deliver a positive customer experience\nThis includes (but is not limited to):\nEnsure schedules are maintained to keep deliveries on schedule to meet customer expectations\nUnderstand the local customer base and how the operations team can help satisfy the demands\nLocally partner with Customer Service to understand and act upon customer requests.\nPartner with Commercial Sales team on customer initiatives within the district to support profitable growth. \nArea and Network Initiatives \nThis includes (but is not limited to):\nSupport the Area Director, when called upon, in other districts within the area.\nIdentify and participate in opportunities to support the company in other areas for network initiatives or urgent activities. \nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree or 10+ years of relevant experience \nPrevious supervisory or managerial experience \nStrong problem-solving skills\nAbility to thrive in a changing environment and deal with ambiguity\nOperationally focused with ability to think strategically and deliver tactically\nSolid time management skills: ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and function independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment\nStrong attention to detail, ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written with employees at all levels \nForklift certification is preferred \nCDL and Hazmat license preferred \nTravel and Hours\nThis position is full-time, standard operating hours\nTravel between field locations will be required\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nEmployee is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, and walk\nEmployee is occasionally required to lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds\nEEO Statement: Pinnacle Propane is an equal opportunity employer.
