Pinsent Masons is looking for an Interim Data Programme Technical Lead, on an initial 12-month contract, to provide the technical leadership and direction for our strategic data programme.\nWorking alongside the Programme Manager, you’ll take ownership of the programme’s technical direction, ensuring our data solutions are coherent, secure, scalable and capable of delivering measurable business value. This is a hands-on role, where you’ll lead architects, engineers, developers, analysts and delivery partners, combining technical expertise with confident programme and stakeholder leadership.\nA key focus will be strengthening enterprise data modelling and transformation, establishing common definitions, addressing duplication and inconsistency, and creating an authoritative golden record that can be trusted and reused across the firm.\nAt Pinsent Masons, your career is exceptional by design - intentionally shaped to support high performance, meaningful development and long-term progression.\nWhat you’ll do\nBring your experience to the table and play a key role in the success of our firm, building trusted relationships and delivering meaningful impact, including:\nOwn the technical direction and integrity of the data programme, creating a coherent, scalable and supportable enterprise data landscape.\nPartner with the Programme Manager to define technical priorities, dependencies, delivery sequencing, architecture guardrails and acceptance criteria.\nLead architects, data engineers, BI developers, analysts and integration specialists across internal teams and external delivery partners.\nShape end-to-end data solution architecture across Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, Microsoft Purview, Entra ID and Power BI.\nLead enterprise data modelling and transformation, including cleansing, standardisation, validation, matching, deduplication, reconciliation and golden-record controls.\nProvide clear technical advice to senior stakeholders and governance boards, assessing options against business value, cost, complexity and risk. \nWhat you’ll bring\nTo thrive in this role, you'll need to bring:\nA proven track record of providing technical leadership across large-scale data and analytics transformation programmes, ideally within a legal or professional services organisation.\nDeep practical knowledge of enterprise data architecture, data modelling, data engineering, integration, master data management and data governance.\nIn-depth experience of Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehousing, Data Factory, Power BI and semantic models.\nStrong knowledge of Azure data services, Microsoft Purview, and identity and access controls.\nExperience designing and delivering transformation pipelines and mastered data solutions, including profiling, cleansing, matching, deduplication, survivorship, reconciliation and data-quality controls.\nThe credibility to influence executive stakeholders, challenge technical teams and delivery partners, and balance business value, cost, complexity and risk. \nWhy Pinsent Masons\nOur “exceptional by design” approach means we’ve deliberately shaped a firm where you can do your best work.
