Machine Learning Engineer (Computer Vision Applied Science)

Join Pinterest's visual modeling team as a Machine Learning Engineer specializing in computer vision applied science. In this role, you will focus on advancing vision-centric large language models (VLMs) and work with unique visual-text datasets to develop large-scale generative models for production. You will prototype new model architectures, develop evaluation benchmarks, and contribute to the broader research community. Additionally, you will mentor junior researchers and interns within the Pinterest Labs organization.

Missions

• Participate in the advancement of vision-centric large language models (LLMs) by prototyping new model architectures and improving their visual perception capabilities.
• Collaborate with a team to develop large-scale generative models for production, utilizing Pinterest's unique visual-text datasets.
• Contribute to the broader research community by publishing and publicizing your work through conferences, paper submissions, and blog posts.

Profil recherché

- Research engineers and scientists who have experience working with generative computer vision models, preferably various forms of visual encoders and LLMs

- M.S. or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related areas

- Publications at top ML conferences

- Familiarity with LLM-powered productivity tools for documentation search, experiment analysis, SQL/data exploration, and engineering workflow acceleration

- Experience using Cursor, Copilot, Codex, or similar AI coding assistants for development, debugging, testing, and refactoring
