Our studio is based in Eugene, Oregon, and the role may be performed remotely, in a hybrid arrangement, or in the office.\nDay To Day\nResponsibilities\nCreate environments for individual projects as needed\nWorks independently or works within a group team setting depending on the project.\nUnderstand what the Project Art Director requires for the project then research, develop and implement it in engine.\nResearch current techniques used and utilize most relevant processes.\nSkills Knowledge and Expertise\nMust Haves\nUnderstanding of Maya and/or Max\nUnreal experience is a must; proprietary engine comfort and Unity familiarity a benefit.\nAbility to create environment textures within tools such as Substance Designer\nAbility to create or work off of environment concepts that are complete or sometimes incomplete.\nAbility to assess complex suggestions and come up with creative compromise solutions.\nWork with design at figuring out level flow and how it pertains to environments.\nUnderstanding of what will be design vs. art\nWorks closely with technical art to develop new or improved upon techniques improve visual quality.\nAbility to keep a clear and consistent schedule.\nStrong communication ability\nGives strong estimates for project planning\nWorks with other departments as needed\nUnderstanding of bug fixing and investigation\nHelp the art team find answers to difficult problems.\nNice-To-Have Skills\nAbility to use Zbrush\nAbility to do FX.\nAbility to whitebox levels.\nDemonstrated Ability To\nMake strong visually impactful environments and pushing the envelope when needed.\nReview and give feedback to other environment artists.\nWork in independently and self organized.\nWork effectively with other artists and engineers to achieve project goals.\nSolve problems to the benefit of the project/team.\nEducation & Experience Required\nAt least 5-10 of years experience in a similar role.\nAny degree or certification in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.\nWhat We Can Offer You\nA Flexible Working Environment\n Almost all of our roles allow for your choice of work location.
