As Advisory DBA, you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively. This position will report to the Offshore DBA Manager and will provide regular updates, status, and escalations as needed. In addition, this position will interface with both Infrastructure IT groups as well as Application client members towards the overall goal of a high performance, stable and 99.99% service uptime of the Pitney Bowes applications. The team member will also work on projects related to new technology adoption related to database or database tool technologies.\nQualifications & Skills\nRequired qualifications for the role:\n6+ years of experience as core MSSQL. Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS\n 1+ years of experience as core MongoDB.\nSolid hands-on experience working independently on projects, administration, performance tuning of MSSQL and other database technologies.\nExpertise in Handling high availabilities like Replication, Always-on setup.\nExperience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.\nExperience with backups, restores and recovery models.\nKnowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.\nExcellent written and verbal communication.\nFlexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality.\nAbility to organize and plan work independently.\nAbility to work in a rapidly changing environment.\nAbility to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.\nBachelor’s Engineering in related Computer Science field or equivalent.\nResponsibilities:\nManage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.\n Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.\n Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.\nRefine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.\nAssist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement\nPerform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.\nShare domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.\nAWS Security, Storage, Monitoring, Governance & Cost management\nArchitectural knowledge to design, build AWS cloud native solutions.\nPreferred qualifications for role:\nMSSQL and MongoDB Certifications\nAWS Certification\nAbout Pitney Bowes\nPitney Bowes (NYSE:PBI) is a global shipping and mailing company that provides technology, logistics, and financial services to more than 90 percent of the Fortune 500.
