Your career with Pitney Bowes will help you be an integral part of the operation that will support not only your career development but our business’ continued growth.\nYou Will:\nUnder direction from the Operations Manager or Assistant Operations Manager, organizes the mail flow on the production floor by assigning workers and assessing volumes and type of mail based on current staffing levels to meet postal deadlines.\nResponsible for overseeing the production workers on designated shift. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and solving problems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws\nOversee quality function throughout the production area. Assure TQM (Total Quality Management) processes and procedures are followed at all times\nAssist Operations Manager in completing required USPS and internal reports, job costing reports and application of all USPS postal regulations. Assure clear and concise communication of pertinent information between shifts\nOffer suggestions regarding increasing efficiency of use of equipment, working conditions, and motivation of employees.\nOther duties as assigned\nYour Background:\n Ability to work Monday - Friday (weekends as needed), 4:00 pm - 1:00 am\nMinimum of one year supervisory experience in any one of the following areas where familiarity of USPS requirements and/or regulations are applied (presort, mailroom, associated industries)\nMinimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in a production or mailing industry environment\nStrong knowledge of MS Excel and/or MS Access along with basic knowledge of MS Word, internet and email\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs, or current maximum allowed by your State. Walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time with or without accommodation\nBased on operational needs must be willing and able to work as needed, including weekends, holidays, days off and/or a different shift with limited or no advance notice\nOur Team:\nPitney Bowes Presort Services performs mail sorting; performing some of the work that would typically be performed by the USPS®. For completing this work, Presort Services receives discounted postage rates. By performing this sorting work on behalf of our clients, we are able to share a portion of that discount with them. Our national network of operating centers processes over 17 billion pieces of mail annually.
