This position combines undergraduate instruction in drawing and painting with responsibility for managing exhibitions and gallery operations in Porter Hall. The successful candidate will coordinate exhibition planning, installation, programming, and daily gallery operations while supporting student learning and community engagement.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nTeaching & Academic Instruction:\nTeach undergraduate studio art courses, primarily in drawing, with additional painting courses as assigned.\n\nSupport student recruitment, retention, and mentoring initiatives within the Department of Art.\n\nGallery Operations:\nDirect and manage all technical, logistical, and preparatory aspects of exhibitions in Porter Hall galleries.\n\nDevelop, coordinate, and maintain an exhibition schedule featuring student, faculty, and visiting artist exhibitions.\n\nDevelop and coordinate educational and community programming associated with gallery exhibitions.\n\nService & Departmental Engagement:\nCollaborate on day-to-day departmental operations.\n\nParticipate in service activities at the department, college, and university levels.\n\nDeliver assigned courses through in-person instruction on campus unless otherwise directed by Pittsburg State University.\n\nMaintain regular on-campus office hours in line with Pittsburg State University and department guidelines.\n\nEducation and Experience\n\nRequired Education and Experience - Time of Hire\nMaster of Fine Arts (MFA) in Studio Art or a closely related discipline.\n\n1 year or more experience in gallery management, exhibition preparation, or art handling/installation.\n\nCandidates must hold a Master of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art discipline or related field.
