This role is ideal for an experienced full-stack or backend-oriented engineer who enjoys building scalable systems, collaborating across product and engineering, and contributing to high-impact platform capabilities.\nYou will work closely with engineering, product, and data teams to design, build, and maintain services and user-facing functionality that support Pixability’s video advertising optimization platform. This is a hybrid role based in Boston, with an expectation to work from the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.\nResponsibilities\nBuild, maintain, and improve backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities.\nContribute to frontend development where needed, particularly in React-based applications.\nCollaborate with product managers, engineers, and data teams to deliver reliable, scalable features.\nWork with cloud infrastructure, databases, and modern engineering tooling.\nParticipate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical planning.\nWrite unit and integration tests to ensure quality, reliability, and maintainability.\nHelp improve engineering practices, code quality, and team delivery processes.\nSupport the product and engineering roadmap and contribute to squad-level technical decision-making.\nRequirements\n4+ years of professional software engineering experience.\nStrong backend development experience, preferably with Python.\nExperience with data pipelines or large-scale systems.\nExperience building production web applications, APIs, and distributed systems.\nFrontend familiarity, ideally with React.\nSolid understanding of relational databases such as MySQL and/or Snowflake.\nExperience with AWS or similar cloud environments.\nFamiliarity with Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, and modern development workflows.\nStrong software testing practices, including unit and integration testing.\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, agile engineering environment.\nStrong communication skills and a self-directed working style.\nAbility to work from the Boston office two days per week, specifically Tuesdays and Thursdays.\nNice to Have\nExperience with ad tech, analytics platforms, or marketing technology.\nFamiliarity with AI/ML-powered product development, LLM integrations, recommendation systems, or workflow automation.\nExperience mentoring other engineers or leading technical initiatives.\nPixability does not accept/pay fees for unsolicited resumes from third party agencies/vendors.\nThe pay range for this role is $140,000 - 165,000 total compensation. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
