In addition, the Facility Operations Building Engineer may be involved in the design, enhancement or installation of new systems and makes recommendations for capital expenditures.RESPONSIBILITIES:\nMaintain and repair the campus infrastructures, equipment and grounds, including, but not limited to those systems listed below: HVAC \nGenerator/UPS \nElectrical/switch gear \nCircuit panel/office power \nLighting systems \nRefrigeration equipment \nCafé equipment \nRoofing \nDoors and windows \nSlate, tile, brick, marble and hardwood surfaces \nArchitectural details and upgrades \nElevators \nSeismic isolators \nAthletic fields and courts \nGym equipment \nAppliances: dishwashers, coffee makers, soda & ice machines, washing machine & dryer \nSwimming pool \nDoor and gates \n\nPerforms skilled trades work, such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair or alteration of infrastructures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures. Works with internal team or outside vendors in the installation or repair of building infrastructure, electrical, mechanical, controls and plumbing as required to support the Studio. Makes ongoing or special inspections of the premise to determine repair work necessary \nUtilize the facility work request system to manage all work in progress, preventative maintenance programs and work order history \nSupervise outside contractors working on the Pixar campus on appropriate engineering related tasks only if necessary \nInvolvement in internal construction projects, including guiding general contractors and sub contractors \nProvide guidance to other team members as needed \nInitiate and follow through on forward-looking maintenance programs of Pixar’s building related systems and materials \nProvide building management system operation and support, including comfort and environmental calls \nPower outage and emergency response team responder \nInvolvement in recycling program and green efforts \nAvailable for on-call duties \nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or construction engineering preferred \n4 years of related work experience \nMust be customer service oriented \nCompetent at Word, Excel, Calendar, Google Drive Documents \nSKILLS:\nAbility to interpret blueprints, drawings or rough sketches \nAbility to manage projects and work loads independently \nStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task \nAbility to troubleshoot in a variety of situations, and be resourceful in determining solutions \nWillingness to take initiative and resolve problems \nStrong collaborator, ability to work well on a team, as well as independently \nAbility to work well under pressure and within given deadlines, be spontaneous and handle last minute tasks \nAbility to work with all levels of the organization \nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nAbility to sit, climb, reach, stand and bend, possess the ability to have a broad range of motion, ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance\nThe hiring range for this position in Emeryville is $74,545.00 to $96,470.00 per year.
