You’ll be joining an innovative and collaborative team with the opportunity to make a significant impact on the Firm’s future.\nThe PJT Risk Manager will collaborate with senior management to identify, assess, mitigate and monitor risks associated with the Firm’s activities. This senior role involves formulating and executing risk management strategies and fostering a culture of risk awareness across the Firm. The Risk Manager will work closely with senior management, business units and corporate functions to create/maintain a strong risk culture and ensure sustainable risk management practices. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of financial markets, strong leadership capabilities and experience managing risk frameworks within a financial services environment.\nKey Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nStrategic Leadership and Risk Oversight:\nLead the execution of PJT’s risk management strategy, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and risk appetite.\nOversee and guide the identification, assessment and mitigation of risks, including financial risk, operational risk, regulatory compliance risk and reputational risk.\nMaintain a robust risk governance framework, driving a culture of proactive risk management across business units and corporate functions.\nAdvise and collaborate with senior management on key risk matters, ensuring timely escalation of critical risks and exposures.\nRisk Framework and Reporting:\nContinuously review and refine risk management policies, procedures and practices to address emerging risks, changes in relevant regulatory framework and expectations and evolving market conditions.\nCollaborate with senior management on refining the risk appetite statement and related tolerance levels.\nPrepare regular risk reports for risk committees and board of directors, providing clear, actionable insights on risk trends, exposures and mitigation efforts.\nLiaise with regulators and auditors to communicate risk management policies, procedures and compliance status. \nCrisis Management and Business Continuity:\nCollaborate with senior management to ensure existence of effective crisis management, business continuity and disaster recovery plans to address potential disruptions.\nStakeholder Collaboration:\nCollaborate with senior management, business units and corporate functions (e.g., Compliance, Legal, Finance, Technology) to ensure alignment between risk management and business objectives.\nAct as an advisor in the development of new products, transactions or strategic initiatives, ensuring that risk considerations are integrated into decision-making processes.\nFoster cross-functional collaboration to identify potential risks and ensure that risk considerations are integrated into business decisions and strategies.\nQualifications\nPJT Partners seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have excellent academic, leadership and extracurricular records. In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:\nHigh level of integrity and strong ethical standards.\nStrong business acumen and ability to balance risk and business goals.\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.\nProactive, forward-thinking and capable of anticipating emerging risks in a rapidly changing market landscape.\nExperience managing risk across Strategic Advisory, Restructuring & Special Situations and fundraising services.\nExperience working with regulators and external auditors on risk and compliance matters.\nRequirements\nTo be considered for the role, applicants must meet the following criteria:\nBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field\n\nMinimum of 10 years in risk management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role within an investment bank or financial institution.\nStrong knowledge of financial markets, instruments and products/services.\nFamiliarity with risk management frameworks such as COSO, NIST and the Three Lines of Defense Model.\nProven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.\nExceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex risk information to senior executives.\nStrong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, particularly under pressure.\nExperience working with cross-functional teams to address risk across various business lines.\nResume must be in PDF format. \nExpected annualized base salary of $175,000- $200,000.\nThis range represents the low and high ends of the expected annualized base salary for this position. The specific base salary received by any employee will be informed by a number of factors, including but not limited to, role level and scope, location, candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills and experience.\nBase salary is one component of PJT Partners’ compensation structure.
