Senior AI Golang Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join an AI-focused engineering team on an initial 6-month contract. The ideal candidate will have strong, hands-on experience with TypeScript and Go, combined with a platform engineering mindset and a strong interest in building and working with AI-native and agentic systems.

We are particularly interested in engineers who are comfortable using AI tools as part of their day-to-day development workflow whether that means using OpenAI Codex, Claude, Cursor, or similar AI-powered developer tools to improve productivity, solve complex problems, explore solutions, and accelerate software delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, building the platforms, tools, and systems that other engineers rely on, and working in an AI-native engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable software systems and engineering platforms.
• Solve complex engineering and architectural problems beyond simply delivering product features.
• Develop production-grade solutions using Go and TypeScript.
• Build internal tools, platforms, services, APIs, and infrastructure used by other engineers.
• Contribute to the development of AI-native and agentic systems and/or the infrastructure that supports them.
• Use AI-powered development tools such as OpenAI Codex, Claude, Cursor, or similar tools as part of your everyday engineering workflow.
• Explore and adopt new AI tools and techniques that can improve engineering productivity, code quality, and problem-solving.
• Work with cloud technologies across Azure and/or AWS.
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers and technical stakeholders to design robust and scalable solutions.
• Communicate technical ideas clearly, contribute to architectural discussions, and work effectively with distributed teams.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, architecture, reliability, performance, and developer experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong, hands-on experience with Golang and TypeScript.
• Proven track record of solving complex engineering and architectural problems, rather than focusing solely on feature delivery.
• A strong platform engineering mindset, with experience building tools, systems, services, or infrastructure that other engineers depend on.
• Comfortable working in an AI-native development environment and using AI tools to support day-to-day software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as OpenAI Codex, Claude, Cursor, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience building AI-native, AI, or agentic systems, or developing infrastructure/platforms to support AI workloads.
• Experience working with Azure and/or AWS. Experience with both is a plus.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, system design, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with engineers and technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
• English level: Fluent.
• All candidates must be currently based in Portugal or Brazil.

Nice to Have

• Experience with both Azure and AWS.
• Experience designing and building AI/LLM platforms or agentic architectures.
• Experience with developer platforms, internal tooling, APIs, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure.
• Experience working in fast-paced, technically complex environments.
• Experience experimenting with or adopting new AI-powered engineering tools and workflows.
• Strong interest in the evolution of AI-assisted software development and developer productivity.
