The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.\nWe’re on the lookout for passionate self-starters who thrive in fast-moving, collaborative, and innovative environments.\nThe Integrity Engineer executes and continuously improves Plains’ Integrity Management Program for pipeline and facility assets. This role serves as the integrity point of contact for an assigned Operations District and independently performs advanced engineering analyses, including in-line inspection (ILI) assessment review, preventive and mitigative (P&M) evaluations, hydrotest and MOP validations, and pressure cycling analysis. The Asset Integrity group works collaboratively across multiple organizations and assets located throughout the United States. This group also serves as the primary interface for regulatory agencies and industry groups including but not limited to: DOT/PHMSA - Office of Pipeline Safety, Texas Railroad Commission, and other state regulatory agencies.\nJob Responsibilities:\nILI and Anomaly Management:\nReview ILI vendor data and reports and prepare summary and closeout reports.\nDetermine evaluation pressures and validate ILI tool performance against field-found results.\nSelect anomalies for investigation and repair, develop repair recommendations and dig plans, and track conditions through closeout.\nReview NDT data for quality assurance.\nPreventive and Mitigative (P&M) Measures and Risk:\nLead P&M evaluations, including data integration, threat identification, High Consequence Area (HCA) review, leak detection and EFRD adequacy, and reassessment intervals.\nPerform pressure cycling and fatigue analyses.\nIdentify positive and negative integrity trends and recommend process improvements.\nHydrotest and MOP Engineering:\nDetermine hydrostatic test pressures and review hydrotest records.\nValidate and document MOP/MAOP.\nProjects and Operational Change:\nProvide integrity input on new construction pipelines, acquisitions, and project estimates.\nReview operational changes such as reactivations, flow reversals, and MOP increases.\nPerform EFRD analyses to support valve placement and project design.\nCompliance and Collaboration:\nPlan and execute requirements of Plains’ Integrity Management Program.\nSupport internal and external audits and respond to regulatory agency requests.\nCoordinate with Operations, Corrosion, ILI vendors, and project teams.\nStay current with pipeline regulations, industry standards, integrity assessment methods, and repair methods.\nTrain Operations and junior team members on integrity programs and processes.\nParticipate in the development of asset integrity management plans and procedures.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.\nA minimum of 5 years of related experience in the following areas strongly preferred:\nILI data analysis and threat assessment.\n\nInterpretation of DOT/PHMSA regulations and standards (e.g., 49 CFR §195.452).\n\nPipeline inspection, testing, and pressure testing.\n\nPipeline design, installation, and fabrication.\n\nAbility to independently perform advanced integrity analyses\nExperience exercising critical decision making and discretion in performing tasks.\nDepth and breadth of knowledge in own discipline applied to complex problems, situations, and regulatory requirements.\nAbility to set goals and prioritize objectives according to those most critical to business success.\nAbility to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and complete commitments on schedule, including regulatory deadlines.\nProficiency with integrity data and GIS systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong team player who works effectively and cooperatively with other departments within the company.\nAbility to travel up to 10% to field locations.\nCleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.\nCompliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.\nThis position is not eligible for employment-based visa sponsorship.
