Full Stack Product Engineer

We're looking for a Full Stack Product Engineer who can take product ideas and turn them into reliable, well-designed software. You'll work across our React and React Native applications, Node.js backend, APIs and PostgreSQL database. This isn't a role where frontend and backend work are passed between separate teams. We want someone comfortable understanding a problem, designing a solution and building it across the stack. You'll work closely with our CTO, product team and other engineers to build software used by biochar producers operating in real-world and often challenging environments around the world.

Responsibilities:

• Build new product features from concept through production.
• Develop web applications using React and TypeScript.
• Develop and maintain our React Native / Expo mobile application.
• Build and extend backend services and APIs using Node.js / TypeScript.
• Work directly with PostgreSQL, including schema changes and SQL queries.
• Build reliable data workflows between mobile applications, APIs and backend systems.
• Design software that works effectively in low-connectivity and offline environments.
• Integrate external APIs and services.
• Write automated tests and participate in code reviews.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across frontend, backend and database layers.
• Collaborate directly with product and engineering leadership on product decisions.
• Take ownership of features after they reach production.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong TypeScript / JavaScript experience.
• Strong React experience.
• Experience building backend applications or APIs with Node.js .
• Good PostgreSQL and SQL skills.
• Experience building complete features across frontend and backend.
• Experience working with REST APIs and external integrations.
• Comfortable debugging problems across multiple parts of an application.
• Strong understanding of Git, testing and modern software development practices.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of features.
• Strong written and spoken English.
