In this role, you will be responsible for defining the core user journeys across our platform, addressing the needs of different user types (from admins, to developers, to end users). With a relentless focus on those users, you will define jobs-to-be-done and design end-to-end user flows across web frontends and agentic workflows. You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to decompose these workflows into scalable, reusable UX building blocks, ultimately crafting a cohesive, user-centric platform experience.\nThe perfect candidate brings a track record of designing sophisticated, data-heavy geospatial applications. This role is full stack, in the design sense: you take a problem from discovery with users all the way to designing and building the interfaces, side by side with our engineers. \nThis is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our Berlin or Haarlem office 3 days per week.\nImpact You’ll Own:\nProduct Design Ownership: Lead the end-to-end process from discovery and prototyping to high-fidelity design.\nGeospatial Interface Design: Create intuitive, powerful geospatial interfaces that translate complex data into actionable insights. \nUser Research: Gather feedback and conduct user interviews in close collaboration with product partners.\nUI Architecture: Define and architect the interaction patterns and design system for Planet’s platform.\nCross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product and engineering to ensure top-tier design quality.\nCulture: Help build and elevate Planet's design culture.\nWhat You Bring:\n6+ years designing complex digital products, with a track record of shipping technical, SaaS, or B2B software end to end. \nBachelor’s degree in design or an equivalent field.\nA portfolio with geospatial or data analytics work: interactive maps, layered geospatial data and time series (time sliders, change over time, comparisons), plus the statistics and charts that turn data into an insight. \nSolid core craft in UX/UI, interaction design, prototyping, accessibility, and visual design, plus Figma and enterprise design systems.\nAn AI-native way of working. You can prototype in code with AI coding assistants, and you're comfortable with Git and merge requests. \nResearch you run yourself: user interviews and usability testing, synthesized into clear product direction.\nComfort with ambiguity.
