{"id":2312090,"url":"https://alion.io/job/plannja-safety-coordinator","title":"Safety Coordinator","company":{"id":2534649,"name":"Plannja","domain":"plannja.se","url":"https://alion.io/company/plannja","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Oracle","truth_index":{"grade":"B","score":75,"open_postings":11,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":1,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":null,"computed_at":"2026-10-12T06:55:09Z"}},"role":"Administrative","role_family":"Administrative","seniority":"middle","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Saint Paul, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":40000,"max_usd":77000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":1646},"experience_years_min":3,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-09-24T13:54:42Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-09-24","last_verified_at":"2026-10-12T05:03:17Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":17,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":17},"description":"POSITION PURPOSE\nThe St. Paul Safety Coordinator will manage, support, coordinate, and verify facility programs related to safety.This includes maintaining facility compliance with applicable laws and regulations through internal and external audits as well as assisting in the continued development and implementation of safety best practices under direction of the Operations Manager and Safety Director.There will also be a limited role in maintaining Environmental compliance by interfacing with Environmental Manager(s).\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nImplement safety management systems that meet or exceed compliance and create value-added enhancement to plant operations.\n\nProvide leadership, guidance, and training to Operations Personnel in company safety requirements.\n\nInterface professionally with employees, customers, medical providers, auditors, government officials, and the public in areas relating to health and safety.\n\nCoordinate and conduct routine plant audits and physical inspections.\n\nMaintain, upgrade, and implement safety programs with continuous improvement and employee engagement as main objectives.\n\nMaintain standardized tools to monitor success of safety management systems.\n\nInvestigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, propose and verify effectiveness of corrective actions, and investigate inquiries/suggestions/complaints regarding safety.\n\nPlan and coordinate comprehensive safety training as directed.\n\nEvaluate, specify, purchase, and audit proper application of PPE.\n\nMaintain appropriate records in accordance with SSAB Safety Policy.\n\nManage facility’s environmental program and compliance with support from Environmental Director.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired:\nProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and comparable computer/online software.\n\nMinimum 2 years of full-time safety compliance work (or further education beyond requirements in relevant EHS fields including BS, MS, etc.).\n\nOSHA 10 Certification and experience with industrial hygiene.\n\nExceptional situational awareness and analytical capability.\n\nStrong project management, record administration, and interpersonal communication skills.\n\nPreferred:\nOSHA 30 Certification\n\nExperience in industrial manufacturing processes and working environments.\n\nFamiliarity conducting investigations, audits, and inspections.\n\nFamiliarity with Safety and Environmental Management Systems.\n\nEDUCATION\nRequired:\nAssociate’s degree in: Safety, Environmental, Human Sciences, Business Administration or equivalent work experience (3+ years in a relevant, full-time safety role).\n\nPreferred:\nPrevious experience running a comprehensive safety program in an industrial facility.\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / DIRECT REPORTS\nThis position does not have any direct reports.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe employee will sometimes work in the following conditions (in addition to an indoor/office setting):\nIn extreme heat and cold; in wet and humid conditions; amid dust, dirt, and noise\n\nWithin confined spaces and at elevated heights.\n\nWhile wearing safety equipment and clothing for protection from hazards.\n\nThe employee will frequently be required to:\nTwist at waist level, reach above/below shoulder and waist level.\n\nHandle, grip, hold, and grasp with both hands (together and separately).\n\nFinger and feel with both hands (together and separately), sense temperature and textures.\n\nThe employee will occasionally be required to:\nBalance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, push, pull, lift, and/or carry items up to 50 pounds.\n\nThe position requires the following vision and hearing capabilities:\nTalking person to person, on the phone, and/or in group settings.\n\nHearing in person, on the phone, and/or in group settings.\n\nVision at near, mid, and far range.\n\nThe employee will be required to sit, stand, walk, and alternate between them as follows:\nSitting 0-8 hours at a time;
