This role maintains payroll records, reconciles payroll activity, supports tax and deduction processing, produces reports, and helps improve payroll systems and processes while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.\nYou Will:\nProcess weekly and biweekly payroll for 4,000+ employees across multiple states using SAP and Workday.\nMaintain accurate payroll information by collecting, calculating, auditing, and entering employee data, including exemptions, benefit and savings deductions, job changes, and department or division transfers.\nCalculate and validate employee and employer payroll tax liabilities, voluntary deductions, garnishments, and related filings.\nMaintain, audit, and reconcile payroll accounts, g/l and journal, paid time off accruals, deductions, and related balances; investigate and resolve discrepancies through root-cause analysis.\nPrepare weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports covering earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, nontaxable wages, audits, compliance, reconciliations, and business needs.\nMonitor changes in federal, state, and local payroll requirements, maintain compliant practices, and advise management when action is needed.\nSupport Workday payroll and HRIS initiatives, including configuration, testing, data validation, implementation support, troubleshooting, and process documentation.\nServe as a payroll systems subject matter expert and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.\nCollaborate with internal business partners and site Talent Management.\nYou Have:\nBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related business field preferred.\nAssociate’s degree in accounting, finance, or business required\nCertified Payroll Professional certification preferred.\nA minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience required; 5 years is highly preferred.\nWorkday payroll experience required, including experience supporting payroll in a multi-state organization.\nStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, filings, and garnishment processing.\nExperience setting up, auditing, or troubleshooting payroll tax items within payroll or HRIS systems preferred.\nExperience with SAP Payroll, UKG, Workday and ADP SmartCompliance preferred.\nSkilled in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, PivotTables, formulas, reconciliations, and reporting; proficiency with Outlook.\nExcellent attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential data with discretion and professionalism.\nAs a Plastipak Associate, you receive a benefits package offering the following:\nWellness Programs\nHealth Insurance Coverage, including Medical, Dental & Vision\nEAP, Employee Assistance Program\nLife Insurance\nAccidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance\nDisability Insurance: Short-Term & Long-Term\nAccidental Insurance\nCritical Illness Insurance\nHospital Indemnity Insurance\n401(k) Plan, with Company Matching Contribution & Profit Sharing feature\nPaid Time Off - 80 hours within 1st year & subsequent increases\nPaid Company Holidays\nDependent Care Flexible Spending Account\nCaregiving via Care.com\nPet Insurance\nTuition Assistance Program\nSons and Daughters Scholarship Program\nTravel Assistance\nEmployee Discount Programs\n*Some benefits are subject to eligibility requirements\nPlastipak is an Equal Opportunity Employer\nIn order to process your job application, Plastipak collects and stores the personal information that you submit via this website.
