The Composites Technician II performs standard assignments with moderate independence while following established work instructions, technical drawings, and quality requirements. More complex assignments are completed with guidance from senior technicians, leads, engineering, or quality personnel.\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nPerform composite operations: hand lay-up (pre-preg and wet), vacuum bagging, trimming, and finishing.\nPrepare molds and tools by cleaning, applying release agents, and setting up materials.\nAssist with and perform established curing processes in accordance with work instructions and applicable procedures.\nTrim and finish composite parts using hand and power tools to meet engineering specifications.\nPerform standard composite repairs in accordance with approved procedures, drawings, and work instructions. Escalate complex repairs or discrepancies as appropriate.\nAccurately document completed work and maintain required production and quality records.\nRead and interpret work instructions, technical drawings, and process documentation.\nAdhere to safety protocols when handling materials (resins, prepregs, solvents) and operate in controlled environments, ensuring all work is completed within quality, safety, and time standards.\nPerform routine assignments independently and seek guidance from senior technicians, leads, engineering, or quality personnel when encountering complex or unfamiliar issues.\nCollaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional departments to support production requirements.\nPerform other duties as are necessary and/or required.\nBasic Requirements:\nHigh school diploma or GED \n2-5 years of relevant experience.\nComposites manufacturing or repair experience in aerospace, defense, or similar industries. \nAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.\nProficient in reading technical drawings and skilled with tooling and equipment: calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, pneumatic tools.\nStrong attention to detail, quality orientation.\nAbility to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with cross-functional personnel.\nDemonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced working environment.\nRecurring FOD training and awareness, upon hire and annually.\nMust be able to obtain a DOT physical and haul trailers to and from offsite locations.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nFamiliar with military aviation operations\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, more with assistance. \nWork environment consists of various office and manufacturing settings with may have exposure to noise, varying temperatures, smells, and chemicals. \nAbility to traverse manufacturing facility. \nActual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education and training, job-related knowledge and skills, the scope and level of responsibility of the position, internal equity, and market/business considerations.
