This role will design and maintain automated test solutions, strengthen our testing practices, and partner with engineering and product teams throughout the development lifecycle.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with a quality-focused mindset and can independently solve moderately complex testing and automation challenges.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain automated test cases and test suites, working within established automation frameworks and patterns.\nCreate test strategies and plans covering functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, performance, and reliability testing. \nIntegrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve the speed, stability, and usefulness of test feedback.\nReview product requirements and technical designs to identify risks, edge cases, and testability concerns early.\nDiagnose failures across application, test, infrastructure, and data layers, partnering with developers to resolve root causes.\nMonitor and report quality metrics such as defect trends, test coverage, escaped defects, and automation reliability.\nReduce flaky tests and improve the maintainability and execution efficiency of the automation suite.\nParticipate in code reviews and promote engineering practices that improve testability and software quality.\nExecute manual and exploratory testing for Electronic Logging Device (ELD) compliance solutions, including hardware-in-the-loop setups utilizing Android tablets, telematics devices/On-Board Computers (OBCs), and in-cabin vehicle testing.\nMust be able to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n3-4 years of experience in software development, test automation, or quality engineering.\nProficiency in Python, or a comparable object-oriented language (Java, C#, Ruby, JavaScript/TypeScript)\nExperience with Gherkin/BDD frameworks.\nExperience with mobile UI automation (Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, or similar).\nComfort with REST API testing - OAuth-based auth flows, building/debugging HTTP request wrappers, reading API error responses.\nExperience working with Git, CI/CD systems, and Agile software development practices.\nAbility to troubleshoot distributed systems using logs, metrics, traces, and debugging tools.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and nontechnical teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience testing cloud-based applications or services in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.\nWorking knowledge of Docker and dev containers for running a consistent local test environment\nExperience testing Android applications (UiAutomator2, adb)\nFamiliarity with test reporting tools (Allure, ReportPortal, or similar).\nExperience with performance and load-testing tools such as k6, JMeter, or Gatling.\nKnowledge of accessibility, security, contract, or resilience testing.\nExperience improving test architecture, reducing flaky automation, or modernizing legacy test frameworks.\nFamiliarity with observability platforms and production-quality monitoring.\nPractical experience using AI coding tools, with the judgment to verify and adapt AI-generated code.\nExperience mentoring engineers or leading quality initiatives across multiple teams.\nExperience in a regulated/compliance-driven domain\nPlatform Science Benefits Highlights:\nMedical, dental, and vision benefits (some plans for employees are 100% covered by Platform Science)\nLife insurance and disability benefits\nGenerous paid time off and company holidays\n401k matching \nFor more information please see theBenefits Highlights brochure for regular, full-time employees. \nIn addition, you can access the Benefit Highlights brochure for regular, full-time employees by copying and pasting the link into your browser: https://www.platformscience.com/benefits. \nThis is a non-exempt role. Our job titles for each posting may span across more than one job level. The estimated hourly rate for this position is between $83,000 and $115,00 annually. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire hourly rates across all US locations. Compensation packages are based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, work experience, relevant trainings and certifications, business needs, market demands and specific geographical location. The hourly pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
