This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.\nROLE RESPONSIBILITIES | THE WHAT & THE HOW\nThe Essentials\nSoftware DevelopmentDevelop, test, and maintain software applications and solutions according to project requirements and industry best practices.\n\nTechnical Design Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to design scalable and efficient software architecture that aligns with business objectives.\n\nCode Reviews Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards.\n\nTroubleshooting and DebuggingIdentify and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner to ensure smooth operation of software applications.\n\nDocumentationCreate and maintain technical documentation including design documents, specifications, and user manuals.\n\nCollaborationWork closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and quality assurance engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.\n\nContinuous ImprovementStay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, and contribute to process improvements and innovation initiatives within the organisation.\n\nProject ManagementManage individual project tasks and timelines effectively, and communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders as required.\n\nTechnical Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or provable, self-taught development skills with a good understanding of how web works.\n3 + years of experience in software development, with proficiency in Ruby on RailsFamiliarity with ViewComponent and the Hotwired Stack (Turbo, Stimulus and Hotwire) will be an advantage.\n\nExperience with databases (SQL), including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar.\nExperience with RESTful APIs, web services, and third-party integrations.\nStrong understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows.\nFamiliarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) would be an advantage.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Github Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI).\nStrong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices (e.g., Agile, Scrum).\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.\nCritical Competencies\nSomeone who is motivated, energetic, and always focused on the task at hand.\nAn analytical thinker who can work under pressure, often unsupervised, and take full responsibility for a ‘piece of the puzzle’ on a project.\nA proactive, continuous, and quick learner who is genuinely excited about industry trends and has a passion for technology and knowledge.\nA resourceful, forward thinker who considers how the code that is written will have an impact later on. \nGood communication and teamwork are critical -
