This role supports secure, reliable enterprise database operations and modernization across Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Azure SQL environments.\nCandidate must hold an active Secret clearance and be a U.S. citizen.\nWhat you get to do.\nDatabase Engineering and Operations\nAdminister, maintain, monitor, and optimize enterprise database environments, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Azure SQL.\nEnsure database availability, performance, reliability, security, and integrity across production and non-production environments.\nTroubleshoot complex database issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.\nPerform database performance tuning, patching, upgrades, backups, recovery, and routine lifecycle maintenance.\nMonitor database health, resource utilization, and operational performance to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.\nSupport database operations within classified and security-restricted DoD environments.\nMaintain accurate technical documentation, configuration baselines, and operational procedures.\nDatabase Modernization and Systems Integration\nSupport modernization of legacy database environments, including migration from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL solutions.\nAssist with database architecture, schema design, data migration, replication, and system integration.\nDevelop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, scripts, and database processes.\nSupport database connectivity, secure application integrations, and data exchange between enterprise systems.\nCollaborate with Identity Management (IdM), infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application teams to maintain and improve mission-critical services.\nEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.\nAutomation, Security, and Continuous Improvement\nDevelop and implement automation to streamline database administration, monitoring, maintenance, and reporting.\nUse scripting and automation technologies to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and minimize operational risk.\nImplement database security controls, including access management, auditing, encryption, and vulnerability remediation.\nApply applicable DoD cybersecurity requirements, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and security configuration standards.\nParticipate in incident, problem, change, and configuration management processes within an ITIL-based operational environment.\nIdentify opportunities to improve database performance, strengthen operational resilience, and reduce recurring incidents.\nCollaborate with technical stakeholders to assess and implement practical engineering improvements.\nRequired Skills.\nMinimum eight (8+) years of demonstrated hands-on technical experience in database engineering, database administration, enterprise IT operations, or related technical disciplines.\nExperience administering and supporting enterprise relational database technologies, including Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server.\nStrong proficiency in SQL, database troubleshooting, performance tuning, and query optimization.\nDemonstrated experience supporting production database environments, including patching, upgrades, backups, recovery, security administration, and incident resolution.\nExperience with database migration, data integrity, and systems integration concepts.\nWorking knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux operating environments.\nAbility to independently investigate complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.\nExperience collaborating with infrastructure, application, cybersecurity, and engineering teams in complex enterprise environments.\nStrong problem-solving, technical documentation, and communication skills.\nActive Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship.\nCurrent DoD 8140/8570-compliant certification satisfying the applicable position requirements, such as Security+ CE or an approved equivalent.\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience, or an approved equivalent combination of education, technical training, industry certifications, and additional directly applicable professional experience, consistent with contract labor category requirements.\n\nThe Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
