The company is able to offer best-in-class launch services to commercial satellite operators, institutions, space agencies and national and international governmental entities\nMission\nAs a Propulsion Design Engineer (Engine) at PLD Space, your mission is to design and develop cutting-edge engine systems for our launch vehicles and spacecraft. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the performance, reliability, and efficiency of the engines, contributing to the success of our space missions.\nResponsibilities\nParticipate in system design and architecture of liquid rocket engines. Tasks include concept design, detail design and creation of 2D drawings, as well as design support to production and assembly. \nDesign of main engine components, including the main combustion chamber and turbopump. \nDesign of support structures, fluid systems and additional subsystem elements. \nConduct trade studies and evaluations of propulsion system configurations and technologies to support decision-making processes. \nLiaise with other engineering departments (Structures, M&P, Quality, etc.). \nOptimisation of design solutions and completion of assigned tasks “on time, on quality, on cost\" via continuous improvement processes. \nDefinition of materials and selection of standard parts in accordance with programme requirements. \nCreation of BOMs for production and assembly installation. \nCollaborate with suppliers and vendors for the procurement of propulsion system components, ensuring adherence to quality standards and technical specifications. \nSupport manufacturing and assembly processes, providing technical guidance and resolving any design-related issues that arise during production. \nContribute to the continuous improvement of propulsion system design methodologies, tools, and processes. \nGeneration of engineering documentation. \nNecessary Requirements\nAerospace or Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s degree or demonstrable relevant experience in lieu thereof. \n> 3 years of relevant technical experience. \nExperience in the application of DFM (Design for Manufacture). \nHigh degree of CAD competence and PDM tools. \nDesired Requirements\nAttention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality design documentation, models, and drawings. \nExperience in design of rocket engine components. \nExperience in design and routing of fluid systems. \nExperience in design of cryogenic systems. \nExperience in the design of turbomachinery. \nEffective communication and collaboration skills to work within cross-functional teams and communicate design concepts and requirements. \nStrong organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines and milestones. \nAbility to work independently and take ownership
