The company is able to offer best-in-class launch services to commercial satellite operators, institutions, space agencies and national and international governmental entities.\nMission\nAs\na Thermal Engineer at PLD Space, your mission is to ensure the thermal\nperformance and reliability of our launch vehicles by conducting in-depth\nthermal analyses and providing thermal design solutions for both stages. Your\nrole is crucial in optimizing thermal protection, optimize thermal control by\npassive and active means when necessary, and ensuring the longevity and safety\nfor reusable launch vehicles. For each mission, the Thermal Engineer will\nensure that the Payload thermal requirements are met on ground and during\nflight.\nResponsibilities\nPerform thermalanalysis and modeling of launch vehicle systems and subsystems, including\nthermal loads, heat transfer, and temperature distribution predictions.\n\nCollaborate withdesign teams to develop thermal control strategies and solutions,\nincluding the selection of materials, insulation, and thermal protection\nsystems for propellant tanks and CFRP structures. \n\nVehicle thermalcontrol system architecture sizing and definition.\n\nContributing toconcept of operations development and mission operations.\n\nConduct thermaldesign reviews to ensure compliance with thermal requirements. \n\nAnalyze andoptimize the thermal performance of critical components, such as\nstructures, equipment, and payload, for the ground operations and in flight.\n\nConduct thermaltesting and validation of hardware and subsystems, including hot-testing,\ncryogenic testing, thermal vacuum tests and thermal cycling tests. \n\nProvidetechnical expertise and guidance on thermal issues throughout the design,\ndevelopment, and testing phases. \n\nCollaborate withcross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, systems engineers,\nmission engineers and manufacturing teams, to ensure thermal\nconsiderations are integrated into the overall system design. \n\nGenerate thermaldesign documents, analysis reports, documenting methodologies and design\nstandards, assumptions, and results for internal use and customer\nreview. \n\nGeneratedocumentation for formal program development reviews. \n\nRequired Knowledge\nAerospaceEngineering bachelor’s degree or related technical discipline. Advanced\ndegree preferred. \n\n> 1 years ofrelevant technical experience. \n\nDemonstratedexperience and advanced knowledge in thermal systems, thermal analysis,\nand design solutions (MLI, coatings, heating systems…), including\nmanufacturing and assembly limitations/constraints and hardware\nverification.\n\nStrongunderstanding of heat transfer principles, thermal management techniques,\nand thermal control systems. \n\nWorkingexperience with thermal and mechanical computer aided design tools,\nparticularly Thermal Desktop, ESATAN-TMS or SYSTEMA.\n\nKnowledge ofmaterials properties and their impact on thermal behavior in aerospace\napplications. \n\nFamiliarity withthermal testing methodologies and procedures. \n\nUnderstanding andknowledge of space environmental factors.\n\nMust havegeneral understanding and application of standard principles, theories,\nconcepts and techniques in heat transfer and thermal engineering.\n\nRequired Competencies\nAnalyticalthinking and problem-solving skills to perform complex thermal analyses\nand identify design solutions. \n\nExcellentmathematical and computational skills for performing thermal simulations\nand analyses (GMM and TMM)\n\nStrong attentionto detail and accuracy in analyzing data, conducting simulations, and\ndocumenting results. \n\nAbility to workin a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and\npriorities. \n\nStrongorganizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines and\nmilestones. \n\nAbility to workboth independently and in a team, fostering a collaborative and
