Main responsibilities are working with the QA Manager and the quality staff on key programs such as third party audits, regulatory audits, customer audits, departmental goals and objectives (KPI’s), keeps current with quality assurance projects and key performance indicators, ensures continuity of key programs, and acts as a liaison between quality, operations and corporate management in the absence of the Quality Manager.Duties and Responsibilities:\nEnsures the quality of product and services by testing product, performing audits of product lines, placing defective products on hold and taking corrective action.\nSupervise and coordinate the activities of the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and protocols to ensure product integrity and safety.\nConduct regular inspections and audits of production processes, equipment, and facilities to identify and address any quality or safety concerns.\nMonitor and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement in quality and efficiency.\nInvestigate customer complaints and internal quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.\nTrain and mentor quality assurance staff on quality control procedures, best practices, and regulatory requirements.\nCollaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to implement quality improvement initiatives and resolve quality-related issues.\nMaintain accurate documentation and records related to quality control activities, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective actions.\nEnsure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP, GMP, and SQF.\nKeeps current with key quality assurance programs and department operation by working closely with the Quality manager.\nPerforms other duties including but not limited to handling customer complaints, communicating holds and discrepancies with supervisors and other departments; completing various reports by maintaining bill of materials, the corporate specification system, maintaining hold logs, completing weekly and monthly reports as assigned by the QA Manager\nMay participate in the execution of the company’s sanitation program.\nFlexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.\nPerforms all other duties as assigned.\nMinimum Job Requirements:\nEducation/Certifications and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or GED, required.\nBachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field, preferred.\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control in the food manufacturing industry.\nAt least 1 year in a supervisory role, preferred.\nExperience with quality management systems and tools.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nProficient use of computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), and other related applications or software.\nExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.\nDetail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nStrong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP, GMP, and SQF.\nBilingual is a plus.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nWork requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees or a work unit, including providing input on hiring / disciplinary and work objectives / effectiveness, and realigning work as needed.\nWorking Conditions and Physical Effort:\nWork involves daily exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, darkness and/or noise. Seasonal exposure to weather elements includes, but is not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.\nWork environment involves daily exposure to physical risks such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards.\nPosition requires the ability to sitting frequently at a desk, walking around the office and plant; carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; reaching and kneeling on a daily basis.\nExpectations:\nWill demonstrate, promote, and exemplify the Company’s Core Values.\nAt C.H.
